Lost posts (merged)

After the changeover to the new system I lost 300 posts and I contacted the admin guys to ask what to do. They said they would post some info on the site soon.

Has this happened? Are we going to get our lost posts back?

Yes, Webby did post and no we are not getting our post count back this time round

Awwww I'm gutted, in the 1600 lost posts of mine...............there were some classic posts, some too funny for words!!! Lost forever.............though some might say that's a relief! :rolleyes:

Well, I feel a bit of a saddo wanting them back but I was well chuffed when I got my fourth star and then I lost it!

So if you could put my post count back up that would be great!

Even sadder the last time when Webby did the work on restoring posts was that people were trying to claim more lost posts than there were :eek:

What took the time and effort for Webby was going back to the archives to check the post counts then adding them in. Far better that MSE Dimitar spends his time fixing the thank you hack at 5.00, then we will be able to say

heh, at least i know where my 30 quid went...

as for the post counts... the problem with vbb is that once a week it runs a cleanup script. amongst the things it likes to do is thrawl the userlist and take count of all the posts and threads started by them (physically present in the forum DB). subsequently it updates their profiles if neccessary and moves on to the next user.

it is futile to keep changing, it wont last for long
