A view is how many peeps?

When a thread has e.g. 1,000 views, how many people on average have seen it?
If I view a thread, then go to another one, then go back look at the first one, then shut down, then the same day switch on, then look at that thread twice like before, then come tomorrow and do the same 2 visits once that day, all this from the same computer - will the system count that as 1 view, 3 or 6?

So even the rather high scoring threads are really a small bunch of people talking to themselves (I won't tell anyone that)Sorry my posts so long - not time write shorter ones.0

Maybe you mean half-a-dozen people make a 1-page thread each goes there 4 times so there are a lousy 24 views; if they make a 10-page thread at the same rate they will go there 40 times each and clock up 240 views. 1,000 views is a rather successful thread, so it looks like many successful threads will get in a very ball-park estimate something like 3 times more spectators than posters. So we're not quite talking to ourselves, but not to a huge public either. I'd guess most of those posters are contributing to other threads.
Somebody should be able to work on the numbers a bit more and work out what our habits are, who is talking to whom etc. statistically, or was it done already.
