The snipers probably both work in the industry Dude89. Chanz4 does I believe & Nada666 views always appear to imply it. As to 16 months that's the good end of this - the dispute has been going on since 2007/ 8 I think & customer has had no power since May 2010.

A lot of people on this forum are employees or former employees of energy companies (myself included - complaints agent at BG 07-10 before leaving) and these people are normally the best source of information. It just seems like this thread has brought out a differencing opinion which for some reason has turned bitter.

I appreciate that there is sometimes company loyalty and also certain areas of specialism which I can not begin to know about, and for these threads I do not post, but certain posters get very defensive when their company gets tarnished. I have not worked in the industry for a long time now and I have no loyalties or hard feelings towards any company. It's a shame others are not unbiased too. (This post is not directed at anyone and is just a general view based on what I have witnessed throughout the forum)

I don't work for the one supplier, however I do work on behalf of suppliers as an rpu officer
Don't put your trust into an Experian score - it is not a number any bank will ever use & it is generally a waste of money to purchase it. They are also selling you insurance you dont need.

Incredibly after an agreement was seemingly reached between parties that suggested customer would settle negligence claim at 4k, then pay Npower 5k & everyone would be happy it still isn't resolved.

Payment of the 4k arrived late, Judge was also unhappy with their solicitors order (the wrong one / format apparently) & Npower / their agents are now unlikely to be able to reconnect before xmas - meaning the above agreement(s) may now fail & be headed back to court for eventual resolution

    The saga continues.

One Judge refused to strike out Jan order - said it needed an appeal

Another Judge said could appeal but not in this court - circuit judges all had some form of relationship with defendant

University legal advice centres solicitors issued new cheque for 4k. A further £1000 could be added

Npower claimed they would still accept the 5k but have still yet to produce any draft agreement to finalise this.

Customer therefore feels unable to cash cheque for 4k until this is in place as it could leave them settling a professional negligence claim at 4k & Npower still pursuing £14k rather than the 5k the 4k was to be agreed based upon.

Courts trundle on - Oral representations re appealing Jan order due to take place out of the County in October. Still nopower - and no money for Npower either (who've presumably already laid out more or less the entire 5k to the courts & barrister) - in the meantime unbelievable as it seems.

Well, it would appear that they still have a license & haven't been sold off so far. They haven't done anything about ending this fiasco either despite having been offered the 5k which they suggested that they supposedly wanted to settle it.

MP was asked to address it via Parliamentary liaison & emailed them last week, asking him to contact the Customer to make arrangements. So far their Para Legal hasn't made any response.

Meanwhile they foolishly continue to issue "the occupier" bills for standing charges, threaten to seek a warrant to disconnect the supply etc etc. Somehow I can't see such threats getting them very far! Lol

Who'd buy a utility company without a license?

They won't lose their license, never going to happen - the regulators are toothless.

Much as I may think they ought to (and Ofgem be replaced by someone useful & competent for that matter) I'm inclined to agree with that I'm afraid
  • I have a massive file of back up info. Happy to send it to you including my MPs letter and Ofgem response all in agreement.

I managed to win my case after 3 years but with subsequent loss in health and near death.

    Thanks for the back up.

    This saga still continues.

Customer has once again confirmed (almost 2 weeks ago) 5k is available & awaits contract Npowers legal dept stated two and a half years ago they would draft "when back in the office" in order to draw this to a close in the manner Npowers legal dept had suggested they wished to do.

Customers MP has in the last few days written & stated that he has asked Npower to provide the contract as they had indicated

Time will tell whether they finally ever do so.
