Deodorant for heavy sweating?

  • I used to use Mitchum, but I kinda became "immune" to it after a while and it stopped doing its job properly. I also found that it stained a lot.

I use Driclor too. Just go easy on how much you put on...it's strong stuff, as I found out the morning after I plastered it under my arms. Couldn't put my arms down for days, it was so sore!
  • I've used driclor and not been to fussy on the going easy and that and its never even stung me!!! Mind you I didn't find it quite as amazing as everyone else does but its still good, it's pretty much the same thing you get on prescription first time you go the doctor with a problem I think.

another vote for mitchums here, its fantastic!
  • Hi, I am just the same with sweating, it's really embarrassing for a woman, worrying about it, I bought a Perspirex roll on from Boots, it seems to have done the trick nicely!

It's easy to give in to that negative voice that chants "cant do it" BUT we lift each other up.
We dont count all the runners ahead of us & feel intimidated.
Instead we look back proudly at our journey, our personal struggle & determination & remember that there are those that never even attempt to reach the starting line.

I think your body must get sort of immune to the active ingredient that's in different anti persparents because I can use one for a few weeks & think 'hey! - this is fab' & then it seems to stop working quite as effectively.

Tried the Mitchum 'stick' but it seemed to drag on my skin (& then it broke off & ended up on the floor  )

Next I went onto the Mitchum roll on but I used it for a while & then had a real nasty sweat rash - I think it was because I was putting too much on & not letting it dry properly before dressing. Underarms have healed now & am still using it but much less liberally :o

    How much is Driclor please?
I've just ordered some Odaban so thanks to the folks who mentioned this but I may get soem Driclor too to see which is most effective.

Lastly - I'm so glad I found this post as I do suffer with excessive sweating so thanks to OP too:T

There is an operation that people can have for this problem - removal of sweat glands. Botox has also been used.

    What about these shields:

  • Whatever you use should be applied to clean armpits. Warm soapy water first then rinse next dry with a towel.

Can anyone tell me about Driclor as I'm not too sure with their instructions...
You are supposed to wash it off in the morning - do you then apply normal doedorant for the day? This is what I've been reading:

I am another fan of Driclor - although I do find prolonged use starts to cause discomfort so I tend to switch to Dove roll-on when this happens.

Also, I am a very anxious person, which obviously worsens the problem.

I work with a girl who suffers from excessive sweating on her feet - at their worst - they were all cracked and so painful. She now has botox injections every six months - it has completely transformed her life. She can now wear sandals and flip flops - which she could never do before because her feet used to slip out of them.

Also to note that the fabrics you wear can effect the amount you sweat, try stick to natural fibres i.e Cotton!
