A friend of mine went to her doctors about this! She'd tried everything available & it wasn't working. The doctor gave her an injection in her armpits (of what I don't know), everything is absolutely fine now. Perhaps it's something you could mention to your doctor?

Just to add that 'Driclor' is fantastic, definately recommend it. You will stop sweating alltogether !

sorry, don't know about getting rid of the stains.

sounds weird, but botox injected into the armpits stop the sweat glands from working for a few months. freezes them i suppose.
expensive but good. it's what all the celebs have done before award ceremony season!

there's a product called Obadan that's like Driclor but I think only available online. It comes in a little spray bottle and is easier to apply than Driclor. The stinging that you can sometimes get is because any liquid that mixes with these total blocks causes an acid to form and with a roll on it's possible to get sweat in the bottle which then makes it more likely it'll sting in future.

sage tea is supposed to reduce sweating too - I'd always heard that drinking it was good but this study seems to have had success with a topical application too

  • I use Anhydrol which I get on prescription from the docs. Excessive sweating is called Hyperhydrosis and can really affect your life alot...it meant that I always stuck to dark colours and could never wear half the stuff my mates did when I was younger. Eventually I went to the docs cos I thought I had something wrong with me and it turned out that lots of people sweat excessively!!
    You are definetly not alone!!
I find that I only use the Anhydrol maybe once or twice a week now and it keeps my sweating under control but I def second the advice about not being heavy handed with any of these treatments as they can cause sore pits if you do!!
I hated going to weddings. All the grandmas would poke me saying "You're next". They stopped when I started doing it to them at funerals :p

I second the Odaban that Justie mentioned. I've used it for about a year and a half and it's excellent. It costs 6.99 including delivery, and one bottle will last a year or so. It's only available online at http://www.odaban.com/

    Hope this helps.

  • I sweat lots too but not just under my arms. Yesterday I was sweating so much it was running down my back and face. I am a lady so it is not very attractive.

I use Mitcham under my arms but to be honest I even seem to sweat through this.

I second the opinion of the other poster who says stay away for so called natural products - I have spent a fortune trying them all crystals, stones and pastes to name a few - none have worked even for a short while.

    Hi catkins,

You should get even more replies to your thread on the Health and Beauty board so I've moved your thread over there.

    another vote for dricolor here
  • I would recommend Mitchum too and try to stick to clothes in natural fabric, ie 100% cotton as this will help you to stay much fresher :)

    How about a rescue dog?
