Have eBay finally added a feature to stop bidders with 0 feedback? EDIT: No lol

did put this in another thread but thought it deserved it's own one if it's true

I don't want to get anyones hopes up (and I've had no problems with newbies in the past) but I know some people don't like bidders with no feedback bidding on their items

it seems that ebay may have done something about this, but it's not very clear so i may be wrong...

ebay preferences -> buyer requirements -> Buyers who may bid on several of my items and not pay for them -> set the first bit to bidders currently winning 1 item -> set the feedback score to 0 (or 1-5)

am i right in thinking this would block any bidders with a feedback score of 0 from your auctions

I've clicked the help bit on this and it doesn't make it very clear...it implies that it blocks those bidders who have won on your auctions in the last 10 days...but the requirement says "Block buyers who are currently winning" (ie the auction is still in progress)

anyone know if this works? might be useful if it does

Hey Stavros, thanks for this, I'll take a peek!

I too mentioned this in the other thread but thought I would say it again here.... its really sad that this has to happen as there are plenty of genuine ebayers out there who just starting out yet have 0 feedback (we've all been there once!!) and it really annoys me that these people will get blocked cos of the to$$ers who ruin the system!! Its a good idea as an interim solution but ebay really need to sort these fools out (the Nigerian Scammers) - I completely understand why people would want to use this tool as I have had trouble with these scammers myself so would probably use it when selling a mobile phone or something similar...

If a newbie is reading this then its nothing against you, its the scammers who have ruined it and lots of sellers (me included) have a lot of time (and money) lost by these people ballsing up auctions!

Rant over - irl let you know if I find anything Stavros ;)

It looks to only apply if they are already bidding on a few of your items

yeah i already know about that one....this is a new feature which may (or may not) be able to stop the nigerian scammers with 0 feedback

the one your talking about can be accessed as above^^^^ - it's under "Buyers with a negative feedback score"
