New Halifax ISA Rates

    Thanks to everyone for the advice here.
    I opened my first ISA with Halifax in January at 2.4% (in branch). After reading this thread, I popped in there yesterday at approx 4pm to ask them to re-designate it to the new ISA Online at 3% and they did it there and then; showed up in my online banking this morning.

    Very impressed; although it does beg the question why don't they do it automatically?

    Before this thread, I wasn't even aware this was possible!

    Needless to say my OH has just been in to sort his ISA out too.

    So for those who don't remember to re-designate would get a much lower rate.

    That's why all the banks do all these 1 year bonus offers.

    Consumerist said "The application said it might take up to 28 days to complete the transfer"

    MSE says "The banks have agreed to a 15 working day guideline for the transfer to take place, so you should begin to receive interest within 15 working days of the transfer. If it goes much over this time it's worth complaining to the ISA provider."
