Hi folks , not on the FF but keep hopping on to read everyones posts as love reading them.

CATZNINE......the caterpillar cake sounds great ,have you a photo of it that we could see ? I am sure my friend would love to make one for her little boy.

As I said not on the fast at the moment but have managed to put £300 aside to save this month towards next car ,hopefully I won't have to dig into it , I have a couple of events to go to but should manage this out of my months £100 happy-cash.

Good luck to all on the fast.

    Walk away from the purse...........:T

Craigy......you have made me think of making twinks again now.;)............any weight gain this month will be down to your bad influence.:)
Yep...still at it, working out how to retire early.:D....... Going to have to rethink that scenario as have been screwed over by the company. A work in progress.

    Hi Folks,

COOLTRICKRIDER - I know exactly what you mean about letting frugality slide when the cash flow is better, I could really kick myself sometimes. It's all a learning curve though and here's hoping that my new habits are here to stay.

JackieO - I like the sound of you having a big baking session and would love it if you could share what you do. Please would you be willing to share what you do and how you go about baking lots of stuff all at the same time. I do bake but have trouble juggling lots of different things and find it hard work and exhausting, and then the oven seems to have been on for hours. I must be doing something wrong.

kittendothroar - I totally agree with Catznine, your spendy day wasn't a failure, it was a day out, and hopefully has strengthened your resolve again. We all need these days from time to time, as you say, it saves our sanity.

craigywv, candygirl and calicocat, nice to see you all here.

craigywv and catznine, your meals sound wonderful.

I enjoy a fishfinger butty from time to time, and saw one advertised on a menu one time as 'retro'. How? When did that happen? Next they'll be saying Potato Waffles and Arctic Rolls are retro too ;)

Hello everyone. Back from our hol which we enjoyed and barely spent anything till the last 24 hrs-ish when we seemed to get thru it at a rate of knots - prob cos we were forced to eat out from that point, as we had to leave accomodation at 10am but wasn't sailing till 9pm. The buffet on the ferry was lovely though and glad my 12yo still classed as the kids price- unlike where we were which stopped at 11. (we didn't eat there!). We broke down on way home, fortunately 2 junctions away from home. It's a company car so is an inconvenience rather than an expense (fortunately).

Had to go shopping to top cupboards up with fresh stuff and last night I discovered my nearest Tesco has some fab reductions late on. I moaned earlier in the thread about how rubbish I thought they usually reduced prices to. Got a curry for 47p from £3.15 (which I wouldn't have bought). I buy this sort of thing as a grab and go from freezer for Mr S's packed lunch, in case we have no bread in or no inclination to make sarnies. 2 quiches @ 33p reduced from £2.20 and 2 packs of 2 beer battered cod @ 75p each from well it says £5 cos I've just looked at sticker. Seriously??? They are from Tesco finest range are they really £5 for a pack of 2. I don't know I've never bought them (and wouldn't at that price).

Mr S has just had the last of the pork joint with a spoonful of apple sauce from Sunday on a sandwich for lunch. Tea is the cod with homemade oven chips and mushy peas. Followed by a fruit salad. I had a few grapes left over and thought they were better made into a more substantial dessert with other fruit than someone snacking on them on their way past the fruit ball.

On my course this afternoon. A free one of course. :T:D It goes from health and well-being to self awareness this week, so looking forward to it.

    Hi everyone,

I was just wondering if i may join this thread...

Just sat reading it ( have a few more pages to go)....

I have just relized that i have been doing this for the past 3 days and totted up what i have spent in them days is about £1.50

50p Newspaper (which thinking about it i could have read online)
35p Lemon for my hot water at work
70p Parking ( needed to go to bank)

I have been thinking that 1, i spend too much money on things that i can do without or don;t really need... and 2, i need to sort out my finances.... long term.....

So i have done myself a food plan (after looking in the freezer and store cupboards) i must admit i have problaly food in the freezer to last me months.....

as from today and the next 7 days things are going to be different.....

thanks for all your help and tips in the thread...

Wish I could say that I made it but alas no! I do have a very clever and creative friend though! :)

Welcome Rosebowl! Making a food menu plan using what you have is a great start!

I have spent all of today de-cluttering so just tuna sandwiches for me, so tired now that we might have to cave and get some fish and chips in! Maybe I can offset that with some ebay/amazon sales with the clutter? On the plus side I have found my conservatory! :j Who knew that was under all the stuff? :rotfl:
