Kerfuffle hope you feel better soon! My mums had a similar thing this week too, must be something going around...
Right, I've done a big shop today - did fruit n veg market, spent £11 but was split between mum and me as took advantage of 2 for a £1 type deals - will last me all week. Also got supplements on special in H&B which will do the next 120 days! lots of value bottled water (its a must where I live!), earrings to match a necklace I bought last week. Household stuff in poundland...flexible meal plan done... and I don't think I now need anything for a few weeks....so tomorrow will be day one all over again...crossing fingers and legs!I love food, hate waste and have a penchant for sparkly things ::D
Trying to find a work life balance...:rotfl:0 -
cash I spent today came from my happy stash and not my food purse I still have just over 27 quid left and only have to get to Friday. But may spend a little tomorrow as I have to pick up a few picnic bits for DD as we're probably going down to the coast for a run with the boys to get some cool air. It'll only be a few rolls and fillers and biscuits so it won't break the bank0

Thanks Kittendothroar, my hubby had it this week also so I think he's definately passed it onto me. Feeling much better tonight though so will go to the supermarket tomorrow and then start Monday as day one of my 7-day Fiscal Fast.
Good luck with your Sunday to Saturday Fiscal fast.cash I spent today came from my happy stash and not my food purse I still have just over 27 quid left and only have to get to Friday. But may spend a little tomorrow as I have to pick up a few picnic bits for DD as we're probably going down to the coast for a run with the boys to get some cool air. It'll only be a few rolls and fillers and biscuits so it won't break the bank
JackieO, I hope you have a good time at the seaside. I'd give anything for a seaside do-nut right now :rotfl:0 -
Can i take part again. Really not been good at all. I'm already over budget this month and have to wait until Friday before the new challenge begins.
Looking through my diary i had spent money everyday last week and only had two nsd's the week before that. Most of those spends were not really needed, i could have made due.
We have a bank loan we are hoping to pay off in the next couple of months. We have saved a reasonable amount for it already. Even more of a reason for me to try harder as it is £90 a month!

Hi everyone, had a lovely few days away in Shropshire, superb b&b, lovely weather, and stuck to budget! So now saving for the next one.
Spent £22 on groceries since our return on Tues, will need milk and bread during the week but nothing else until Thursday (day off). Work hours looking up, and have also been offered some ocasional work helping out at a local hostel, so that will be a bit more in the pot.
Finding this hot weather means I don't want to be bothered with the shops!
Sorry to hear you are still suffering, catznine. You must have similar taste in books to me - I love Miss Read and Agatha Christie!
Hi fs, give it another go, why not?
Kerfuffle, hope you feel better soon .
Got to go, queue for the pooter, will pop in again soon.
Have a good evening everyone.0 -

Hi forever saving, welcome back. As I'm new to this thread I can't say I've missed you :rotfl:, but it is nice to see you :T Those nsds can be a bit elusive when they want to be can't they?:mad:modern_millie wrote: »Hi everyone, had a lovely few days away in Shropshire, superb b&b, lovely weather, and stuck to budget! Thank you for your good wishes modern millie, it was just a 24-hour bug which left me feeling a bit weak, but I'm fine now and back to my usual bouncing Tigger self (not :rotfl:)
Anyway, as per my plans in my last post, I've been to the supermarket and hopefully got everything I need to see me through to next Monday. Due to a shortage of cash and not wanting to put anything on the credit card my list was severely restricted and so this week our diet is also going to be severely restricted. It should be healthy, just not very varied, as rubber chicken is the main ingredient all week :rotfl:
Good luck everybody for the days ahead.0 -
Hi folks.....what lovely weather we have had over the weekend, too hot for me for too long I have to say......typical british 'burn in an hour skin' I have. However I was at the coast yesterday which was lovely , fab breeze.
Welome back M.millie , hope everyone is feeling better and no bugs, especially in this heat !
I flew to shops today on way home for some veg and salad so I can start tomorrow again. Get paid in morn ,so will quickly check bank and work out monthly spending etc , but need to factor in car service and MOT. Also never sure what I'll get paid due to different shifts.
So , plan is to be back on as of tomorrow, cooked chicken and pasta salads etc today to start back at work tomorrow, have cornflakes and basics in,may have to nip briefly in a shop for milk for the week (I find cravandale milk great when on this challenge as it lasts for ages but prob more expensive)
Good luck all and keep going.
Walk away from the purse..........:TYep...still at it, working out how to retire early.:D....... Going to have to rethink that scenario as have been screwed over by the company. A work in progress.0 -
Up at Tescos at 6.10 a.m. this morning and got all that I wanted and was back home having my breakfast by 7.00.No more shopping to buy this month, at all and £24.00 to go into my holiday stash on Friday0

On day 2 but fear will break it tomorrow - meeting a friend for a picnic, after my final English exam eek! Not planned food yet, hoping can wing it from my cupboards and hers, if not might involve a quick shop...!I love food, hate waste and have a penchant for sparkly things ::D

Well NSD yesterday , and won't spend today as will be asleep after work.
Have cooked chicken and salad stuff in,so this should last 3 days.......I seem to have a thing about rocket at the moment. A while ago it was fish fingers ,and before that it was pesto.....I deffinately seem to be having 'food phazes' at the moment.
Wages quite good. :j. So should be able to save maybe £200 this month ,but will have to see what car costs to sort.
Have no ice-lollys in freezer ....:(......will have to look into maybe getting a tray to do my own when have none with juice (except never room in freezer!) , think lakeland do them ,but will have to see if can hunt them out cheaper.
Keep going folks
