What an amazing thread! I am going to start this tomorrow, I'm hoping my only spend is bus fares (but these are refunded by my employer)0

I've managed to do this without realising - I spent last week on a fiscal fast after coming back from my first holiday in 4 years with about £30 left in the bank to last me til 6th November.
I found it remarkably easy actually. I would usually buy lunch every day and pop down to the village shop for bits and pieces of food through the week but I just stopped all of it. I avoided shops, never left the house with any money in my pocket and before I knew it 7 days had passed!
Only 3 spends took place through the week - two lots of parking outside university (unavoidable since I work full time and don't have time to park outside my college and walk down) and the purchase of a prescription.
Not actually physically going to any shops was the clincher, no temptation means no spending.
I'm aiming for another 7 straight away. It's only once you stop spending money that you realise how easy it is to get by without all of those extra bits and pieces that eat into your hard earned pennies.0 -

NSD today I am sticking like glue to my store cupboards and making lots of HM stuff cakes and biscuits etc.I made some delicious 'melting moments ' biscuits from the Be-Ro cook book over the week-end trouble is they were just so delicious my four DGS finished them off tonight when they came home from school.Looks like I'll be baking again tomorrow for the boys .The youngest wants some jam tarts which are easy-peasy and I have quite a bit of jam in the cupboard. We are all doing so well (sorry about your exhaust danetastic its horrible when that happens it makes you feel like a hamster on a treadmill, wotrking hard and getting nowhere.Onwards and upward chums

Hi everyone, been MIA the last couple of days, DGD has broken her leg a couple of days ago and in hospital so been up there straight after work and not felt like putting the computer on at 10pm at night!!!!hopefully shes coming home today.
Sorry to hear about your car danetasic, really frustrating and expensive:( didnt realise they cost that much, its like the price of a holiday!!!!
Well my FF has gone really wel,l I managed from last Weds to yesterday, when I had to buy a sandwich from work before I went up the hospital, but I havent been paying parking costs as I found a street that wasnt permit parking and then walked the rest of the way, so I've been getting some exercise every day:rotfl:
Im starting again today but not sure how it'll work out as DD and DGD are staying with me a few days, but DD knows all about it so somehow we can manage I'm sure. I still dont need fuel and foodwise there is still plenty in the cupboards, so hopefully I can do a few more days. It really helps putting it all down on the computer as it stops me going out and spending on needless food which I probably already have in, it makes me think more about what I have in and can use, rather than just buy something cos I fancy it:)
Anyway must go having a quick lurk and then back up the hospital, Im just glad I'm off work on days off now

danetastic wrote: »One question - I bought plain flour from AF what do I add to make it SR?
You need to add baking powder to plain flour if SR needed.
I only ever buy plain flour and baking powder as it saves storing bags of SR as well. I add 1tsp to 200grms flourSlimming World at target0
