As you do get on well with them, would there be any harm is saying to them one day(very nicely) 'Do you know I am sure your dad would really love it if he were to get a birthday card from his girls,
It would really make his day'0 -
I know people from different countries who have told me that in their culture, people 'just don't do birthday cards'.
If they moved to somewhere like this and have been brought up from a young age with this as the norm, then they might not even think about sending birthday cards.
Though even if this was the case, it is highly rude not to acknowledge gifts and say thank you for them.0
