I wasn't aware that they sold cigarettes in Poundland.
I think where confusion exists is when products manufactured here and were originally destined for foreign markets is sold in stores like Poundland. These products usually have foreign writing on the product - usually Arabic, but are perfectly fine. They are all imported from other countries where standards are low, resulting in the products being unhealthy and filled with illegal additives.
Absolute rubbish! If that is the case, provide evidence and report Poundland to your local Trading Standards Dept.
Buying Alcohol and cigarettes from an Asian corner shop is another matter!0 -
they are crap because the sound is really tinny
i bought some
never used them again though
I wouldn't know, I use the ones that came with my iPod, but I saw a pair for £9 in Asda the other day, so to get some for £1 I think is fairly good. Also, my husband says that as long as he adjusts the equaliser he gets a good sound from them.
They're only earphones. No way in hell am I paying more than a couple of quid when they only get used by my husband listening to music on the bus!0 -

He's had a few pairs of the Apple ones, but considering the £24 price difference, there isn't a particularly noticeable difference in sound quality. In fact, as he mainly uses them whilst on buses (so with a fair amount of background noise) he prefers the GUMY ones because they're the proper in-ear ones with the funny rubbery bit.
Plus, the speed with which he destroys his headphones, he's lucky he got anything more than Asda Smart Price :P0 -

But it's better to spend £1 on cheap earphones in Poundland than £5 for just as nasty but not so cheap earphones elsewhereA kind word lasts a minute, a skelped erse is sair for a day.0 -
People spent hundreds and hundreds on Iphones, and Ipods. But wont spend a few quid to actually listen to them... flash over function.0

I don't see the relevance of that at all. What's your point?0 -

Hence the old adage - you only get what you pay for!
It's false economy buying cheap rubbish if it only lasts a short time.0 -

Whilst I'd usually agree with you I have exactly this problem: I kill earphones in no time at all! I've bought top of the line expensive ones and they've died quickly. I've bought £1 ones and they actually lasted longer than most of the expensive ones. I've bought mid range and they still die.
So for me personally (especially being used for an MP3 player on a mobile) its better to buy the cheap ones.
Now if I was using them for any other use then I'd possibly get one of the horribly expensive "indestructible" sets. I'd still be surprised if they lasted more than 6 months!0 -

I completely agree. I've spent a small fortune on some supposedly great earphones and while they might have better sound quality to begin with, they've broken just as quickly as the cheapo ones. And to be honest, if all I'm really using them for is to listen to my iPod while I'm travelling then all I'm bothered about is blocking out the sound of the train thunking down the track and the kid behind me crying (why is there always a kid behind me crying on every flipping train I get on?), not whether I can hear every single detail of every single song. I'd rather buy the cheapos and spend the cash on a better stereo to listen to at home where I can really relax and enjoy it properly.0
