Some of the stuff if good value.

I buy curly wurlys and the snack size milky bars - you get 5 for £1 in pound land.

In tesco the curly wurlys are 27p each and in wilkinsons a pack of 5 will cost you £1.25 so some things are worth the money

I also managed to get three small tins of heinz beans for £1 - they are about 57p each in tesco.

I bought a raincover for a buggy, lots of nice Johnsons baby toiletries, some pretty good sandpaper, linoleum tiles (cost under a fiver to re-floor the bathroom and the toilet!), some fantastic rechargeable batteries (last for aaaages after a charge!), lots of funky little toys, some cute slipper-socks for the kids, some nice kitchenware (especially bowls/plates/cutlery for the kids), plenty of batteries for the kids' toys, some decent earphones for my husband's iPhone and a nice rubber case for my iPhone. I've saved shedloads buying stuff from there. I rarely buy food from there, but I find a lot of the stuff they sell is great!

They are all imported from other countries where standards are low, resulting in the products being unhealthy and filled with illegal additives.

Whats these illegal additives then ?

I'd rather be an Optimist and be proved wrong than a Pessimist and be proved right.

I have never seen someone who talks as much cr*p as you on these forums.

Also, just looked at a bar of chocolate my son was given by my step mother (bought in Poundland) The packaging etc is identical to that of a bar which I bought in my local Asda.

I didn't say they were amazing or fantastic. They were just decent. I think £1 for a pair of in-ear JVC Gumy earphones is pretty decent, considering!

    MamaMoo, it's a troll.

Responding to it only encourages it.

Sizes being reduced isn't just Poundland, it's also happening in Tesco and other major stores.

Prices increase, it's called inflation - the only problem is pound shops can't really increase their prices with everybody else without changing the whole strategy of the business, their only option really is reducing the size and thus maintain their margins.
