Anyone been to Blackpools marton mere?

Weve booked a caravan holiday there for this july with the 4 kids and were all really excited about it.

Just wondered if anyones ever been before and how they found the caravan park? Also, how was the bus service from the park into blackpool during the day and night. Just anothers opinion im looking for. Thanks guys :)

we went years ago it was fine. you get the bus from just outside the gates.
  • There are buses every 1/2 hr or 1 h/r depending on the time of year we used to get a taxi in to town it wasnt much more expensive, we sometimes went to the pub outside the camp, food was cheap and cheerful (2 for 1) was ok as eating on site was quite expensive if youve got 2 or 3 kids.

We went for a week a few years ago, it's a nice site. We had a problem with our caravan and they were very quick and efficient in sorting it out. Not sure about the bus as we used our car. I remember it was very pretty, lots of wildlife - we watched the starlings flying every night. I also remember that the rain was relentless......we did go in October though!

I liked marton mere, it was easy distance to the centre of Blackpool, and the entertainment was good. Blackpool zoo is near by and is the best zoo ive been too. The only problem we had was with the pool area it wasnt very big and you are squashed like sardines If l were you l would get down there early.hope you have a good holiday.

We stayed on Marton Mere with our tourer for many years before it was taken over by British Holidays & then later Haven, since then we stopped going as the site went down hill. In all my years caravanning its the only place that Ive had items stolen from outside my caravan.

Have a read of the reviews on TA:
