Sun holidays - where did you get allocated ?

I sent tokens off for the first time and was successful and am going to marton mere on 30 march for a week ( we choose to extend it to a week )......hope it's nice, has anyone been ?

yep - went to Marton Mere in October half term on a sun deal...

nice little site - very clean, lovely swimming pool with space bowl flume..

all the usual Haven stuff.... 10 minutes drive into Blackpool itself..

is there anything specific you want to know?

what food does the cafe bar serve and what type of price ?
what things are on site ?
what are the caravans like...i have paid for luxury plus upgrade ?

the site was very clean and tidy in october half term..i was expecting it to look a bit jaded at end of the season but it was not.

we did not eat on site .... so cant help on that one.. but usually the Mash and Barrel pubs serve the usual pub food... we always self cater so have never eaten at any of them..

we had a standard caravan and it was fine.... never had luxury so can;t comment on that , i looked in the window of the one next to us that was more luxurious...again clean and looked fine

they all looked clean and tidy, and the site was in good condition except for the usual Haven issue of the linen bags being left around outside the caravans to be collected later..

I would go back to this site on another Sun deal out of season... i would not go in summer as there is no beach or outdoor pool...and my kids enjoy beach / swimming holidays..but there are plenty of other Haven sites that do have wonderful beaches and outdoor pools..

we did a bike ride around the site and it all looked very well maintained...it was very muddly in places where cars had parked next to the vans and churned the mud up - but that is a problem when parking on grass and not Haven's fault - i saw security towing a few cars out that had got stuck....

The site was well lit and it felt very safe - i allowed DD to walk back to the caravan alone(which was near to the complex)
