Broadband dropouts

Hi guys,
I have been noticing sporadic intermittent drop outs in my broadband connection when playing poker.
It keeps disconnecting me and then throwing me back in after reconnecting.
Having spoken to the poker provider, they confirmed that they're servers were fine and the problem lies with me.
I then called O2, my broadband provider and explained the problem. He did some diagnostics, such as checking average response time (14ms), packet loss (0%), speed tests (11.5-16MBPS) etc and everything looked peachy according to him. He also checked the logs on his end and they indicated NO connections drop outs.
That said, I cannot seem to use any online ping test/broadband quality checker as they all seem to be reporting 100% packet loss:

The O2 guy said it might be something to do with the phoneline itself and suggested I contact the line supplier - BT. But I am not convinced that a line issue could suddenly manifest itself as I have never experienced this problem before and it first started a couple weeks ago..
Here's some Pingtest results:

Anyone have any ideas?
Thanks,
Z

Im no big expert but i used to have drop outs with my broadband and it was due to REIN.
If its a sudden connection drop it could be REIN (Repetitive Electrical Impulse Noise) interference. This is caused by nearby faulty electrical equipment eg faulty thermostats on fridges/freezers/heating systems etc etc.
But like o2 said it could be due to your BT line, have you called them and queried them?Better to understand a little than to misunderstand a lot.0 -
BT wont be able to do anything, its up to O2 to do the line check and arrange fault tests with bt.0
-
So then why did O2 tell me to call BT and sort it with them? The gent said O2 had conducted all the tests at their disposal, all of which flagged as ok and that if the problem persisted, to contact BT directly (as they own and manage my hard telephone line)...
Bit confused now.

The line is the responsibility of your line rental provider-not your ISP.
O2 are correct.
Have you done a quiet line test? Dial 17070, option 2 listen for noise/crackles on the line.
Report it to BT as a line fault, NOT as a broadband fault-if you mention the latter then they will just refer you back to your ISP.No free lunch, and no free laptop0 -
Are you connected to your router via wifi or drop cable?
With java-based chat-type rooms I've seen momentary wifi dropouts cause kickouts requiring manual reconnection to the room when the signal has reverted to normal.
If that's the case I'd then look to increase the wifi signal by relocation of the router's antenna or the PC's wifi antenna, or by changing to a less busy wifi channel after analysis by inSSIDer. Or by using a drop cable connection.0 -
OP, are you connecting wirelessly?
If you are cease and desist and connect via Ethernet, do your problems go away?
If not, log on to you router and post you line statistics. That gum you like is coming back in style.0 -

Again, it was working fine and dandy up until about 2 weeks ago. Now I am definitely noticing intermittent drop outs. I first notice them when playing poker and if I'm quick enough to try and load a web page, I notice it won't load either. The disconnects only last 5 or so seconds, but this is impossible for poker playing, as you can imagine.
I reverted the BT findings back to O2 who said they'll send a new router and run some tests on my current one.
I am not confident a new router will help though...
Any other ideas?
