I guess it depends on where you are but round here (Bristol) independent garages seem to charge about £60 an hour which is only slightly higher than the national average - so I've read anyway. I'd have thought to to the job properly your looking at an hour at least.

As for myself I go to the main dealer because my car is quite new. I know it's not cheap but the receptionists are usually quite hot so that takes the sting out a little bit.:D
