Morning you are doing so well keep up the hard work. I have given up on the surveys at the moment need to get back to it they drive mad so long winded. Also annoys me to get half way through not to qualify. I am hoping june is going to be the month for me getting back on track as i have wiped may off. xx

  • Hi Shinner & sweet pea,
Thanks for the encouragement! Shinner I know just what you mean about getting halfway through and not qualifying! I've has it do it to me on the final button where you submit to get your reward.... or not get it as the case may be!
I think sometimes you do have to write an odd month off here and there. You can't keep at it every month non stop, as much as you try.
Good luck to you both x

  • Having a nightmare month this month. Car needed tyres and brakes to get through MOT and I'm totally broke now and it's still 2 weeks until pay day! I'm even wondering how I'm going to pay for food!
On the plus side I have finally paid off my Yorkshire Bank visa! Hooray! Statement came today and I only owed 44 pence! (I'd missed the pennies off when I came to pay it off last month!) It seemed a bit daft doing a bank transfer for such a small amount but it still needed paying and I have one less debt now! Phew! Just my overdraft, Lloyd visa and 2 barclaycards to go. 11 separate debts down to 4! But.... still a way to go.....I still need to concentrate on what is left. I'm thinking of doing a car boot sale tomorrow but I'm not sure if it will be worth it. I dont have a lot of stuff so the entry fee may wipe out any potential earnings...... I need to go have a rummage and a totting up session!

  • Nothing is getting paid off my debts this month as things are going from bad to worse!!!! On top of the tyres and brakes needed for the car, my alternator has now broken! I have no way of paying for a new one and no way of getting to work! ( I live out in the sticks, its a 3 mile walk to the bus stop and I start work before the busses run in the morning!) Also our bore hole pump went faulty so we had no water for a few days, a man came and fixed it and then something else went wrong with it and he came back and fixed it again but now, even though we have water, there is soil in it! He is coming out again next week but every call out costs £100! But what can we do? We need water! This is my payment for the bit of luck I had Last month! I don't know how the heck we are going to pay for everything! Grrr! Praying for a miracle!!:(

  • Well July has been another write off regarding my debt plan. The unexpected bills keep rolling in and I don't feel like I have made any progress. I have to keep telling myself that at least I am paying some money off and I am not getting further into debt like I was 18 months ago.
I got a letter today confirming my Yorkshire Bank CC has been fully paid off and is now closed.
I'm at 1600 on my Lloyds so thats next on the list to go followed by a 2k overdraft and 2 x Barclaycards.
I can see progress but it is very slow going at the moment. I'm hoping that the next few moths will be quieter on the bill front and I can get cracked on with paying some big chunks off.....

  • I haven't been on here for a while as I have had a busy 2 months of bills and expenses like a big family wedding where we had to stay in a hotel etc. I felt like I wasn't really doing much debt busting but it was still good to know that I wasn't getting into any more debt like I would have been doing before the plan started, and it was so much easier to afford things. I was also excited to notice this am when I checked my balances, that I am now below 10k in debt from a starting debt of 28k only 17 months ago! And that 17 months has gone so fast now that I look back. It really doesn't seem that long ago since I started my plan!
Now I just need to get focussed during the next few (hopefully quieter) months and crack on earning some extra money to pay off some more!
Today's plan is to box up some car boot sale stuff and hopefully there will be a dry Sunday in the next few weeks before the car boot season ends! :T

  • Hi GMOD. Just popping by to see well done on your fantastic progress.

  • Well I have just had another payday and paid another chunk off! It was a bit less this month than I wanted to pay, I am still struggling to catch up after an expensive couple of months over the summer. I am hoping to pay my final payment in October 2014 so just over a year to go. It is still a struggle but it is a lot easier than when I first started. I am 18 months in now, time has flown, I am well over half way so I can see light at the end of the tunnel now but it does still get me a bit down some days.... I wish I could fast forward to next October. I'm slacking a little bit and I need to get more focussed. I haven't done any ebay for a few months and I keep postponing the car boot sale I had planned.... My online surveys have gone out of the window..... It is hard keeping it all up sometimes. I sometimes can't be bothered putting the extra effort in just for an odd pound or two here and there. I need to remind myself that every little helps and gain a bit more enthusiasm!

  • Well I finally got round to doing the car boot sale at last and I made £48! Typical me waited to the coldest windiest day of the year but i managed to sell pretty much everything in the first hour and got away before the rain started! £48 off my debt makes me a happy girl! I just remind myself that when I was spending, a tenner here or fifty quid there soon turned into thousands worth of debt. So its the same when I'm paying it off will soon add up to thousands paid off!!! I have nothing left to sell now so I need to find other ways of making that bit extra to keep my debt plan on track. Economising a bit more and some online surveys should help for now.....until I have my next debt busting brainwave! :T

  • Feeling a bit down today :( I don't get paid until Friday but have pretty much run out of money and finding it hard going. I have about £35 left and a weeks worth of food to buy and no fuel in the car to get to work! This debt busting is really up and down... I'm either doing really well at it or really bad! I need to stay on track or I wont get it cleared in 12 months like I am planning. I don't want to fall behind... I've been in debt far too long now... I can't let it go on any longer.... Looks like I'm driving to work on fumes and eating beans on toast all week! Lol
