paying for connection is better than paying extra each month to let them give free connection IMO - you can get cheaper modems too - just go to ebuyer, or even ebay and get one from their and use it - thats what i did
also zazizam put everyone on a 3 month contract and not 12 months like AOL, Tiscali, BT, Wanadoo all do - which is better IMO
if you don't pay BT line rental - then who will maintain your line, making sure it all works? Also it allows you to be be plugged into the BT network. If you didn't pay it (line rental) - you would be restricted in terms of broadband choice, from either cable, or satelitte0 -
Tesco's use datastream and also do not give out MAC keys so if you want to leave it is cease and reprovide, which is costly and can mean being without broadband for several weeks0

Bulldog are currently under investigation by OFCOM. Their service this year has been worse than terrible. A big feature recently on Watchdog as well about Bulldog.
I would give this company a miss if you want a decent ISP.How many surrealists does it take to change a lightbulb?

Thanks for the info sounds like Bulldog should be put down. Looking at UKonline 2mb £14.99 unlimited, is their customer service that bad. I am currently with Wanadoo and their sevice has been appalling.Regards

Have a look at https://www.adslguide.org.uk it is the biggest (and best) independent review site in the UK for broadband. If you look at the menu on the left. Click 'compare'. You can select up to 6 ISPs to see how they compare to each other in the categories speed, reliability and customer service.
This site is excellent to get an idea of what is out there. If you click message boards (on the left), you can find forums for each ISP. Have a look at these to get an idea if there are any current problems with any company you are considering. How many surrealists does it take to change a lightbulb?
