I think OP is over reacting, it sounds like a miss price most companies will not honour miss prices and they dont have too

I have found sainsburys cs okay and I regularly shop there as you must have done to get all those nectar points

It's a bit of an over-reaction to have a paddy because something goes out of stock, and they can't get any more.

For example, I sold HP Touchpads through my business and I ran out of stock despite still having some time left to run on the offer I had running. If anyone had a paddy at me about it, I'd have been telling them where to go!

Move on, that's probably the best advice. Not that you have much choice. :)

    Hi all,

I was delighted to see a VAX floor cleaner available on their website at a sale price of £119 available until 28th March 2012, for the Rapide Ultra, this was just what I was looking for, thus I went to Nectar, cashed in my vouchers and upon receiving the vouchers went back to Sainsburys to find it listed as out of stock, I registered for notification (thinking I still have another 30 days left) when stock levels return, 2 days later I receive a notification of items back in stock. I logon ready to purchase to find they have now cancelled the deal.

I contact Sainsburys to be told they cancelled it NOT because they did not want to honour the low price but because they could not source the stock for a lower price than £199....Well Sainburys try VAX themselves they have it for £149.

Now I am left with a voucher for a company I do not wish to deal with, I don't want to use it for anything else and a VERY bitter taste, if this is there customer service then hello morrisons and Asda....

Do not know why but as I get older I seem to be more riled by thse shabby customer service issues by comapnies who should know better.

If a deal states it will run until the 28th March it should run until the 28th March, not close early and if I can go direct to the ACTUAL manufacturer and get it cheaper off their own website (no deals) then surely they can source it.

New price for Vax is £199 Sainsburys...£149 direct from VAX (with free shipping!!

    Really annoyed about this...

    Darren

if you want a deal, pay for it
deals run out all the time
if you wait then its a risk
you chose to draw the vouchers and delay the purchase
    it went out of stock

Also I think the maximum points you can redeem is £50 of Nectar points (10,000 points) in a single transaction. As a colleague found out when she tried to buy an online exclusive laptop.

    So the OP is lying.

I guess "vent" here means vent your spleen at a poster who dares to have a vent at a retailer who offers poor service - very MSE, the pack is out hunting!

I don't see what the retailers done wrong?

They've run out of stock, and can't get any more - whats the problem? The offer will finish at xx date, and it's a shame they've run out before then - but they can't have an infinite amount of stock, so at some point they will run out.

Just because VAX sell it for £119 to consumers doesn't mean Sainsbury's can buy 10k units from them for that price, nor should you expect them to!

I can understand how frustrating it is missing out on an 'offer', but even though I detest Sainsbury's, I don't think they have done anything wrong.

Offers like this are not just restricted to a closing date, but will very likely be 'subject to availability' or 'while stocks last' clauses.

Annoying for the OP - but it does feel better to vent your feelings on here without others berating the OP for doing so.

I can understand the OPs annoyance and disappointment - Although the situation is not the end of the world, when you spend time looking, researching prices, checking out the situation with Sainsbury's and using Nectar Points/Vouchers within stated offer period etc and then look forward to getting hold of the item you've been after at a great price then it is very frustrating when it falls through before end date of the original offer.

This board is named "Praise, Vent & Warnings" so the Op has vented his frustration and effectively warned others of the pitfalls of waiting instead of grabbing a bargain while it's available.

I think it's a shame that some users on here seem unable to empathise with people's frustrations and instead prefer to respond with boorish and ignorant comments - in short a form of bullying imho.

    I agree.

Unfortunately, there is a certain type of person who knows that if they lurk here they will encounter people who are using this forum for its stated purpose and will then get a chance to scoff and be generally obnoxious.

I suspect that type of person feels rather worthless in their day to day life and getting the chance to be smug and self-righteous makes them fell better about themselves for a while.

We should, I suppose, feel sorry for them.
There are two types of people in the world: Those that can extrapolate information.
