Bye Bye Sainsburys

Hi all,

I was delighted to see a VAX floor cleaner available on their website at a sale price of £119 available until 28th March 2012, for the Rapide Ultra, this was just what I was looking for, thus I went to Nectar, cashed in my vouchers and upon receiving the vouchers went back to Sainsburys to find it listed as out of stock, I registered for notification (thinking I still have another 30 days left) when stock levels return, 2 days later I receive a notification of items back in stock. I logon ready to purchase to find they have now cancelled the deal.

I contact Sainsburys to be told they cancelled it NOT because they did not want to honour the low price but because they could not source the stock for a lower price than £199....Well Sainburys try VAX themselves they have it for £149.

Now I am left with a voucher for a company I do not wish to deal with, I don't want to use it for anything else and a VERY bitter taste, if this is there customer service then hello morrisons and Asda....

Do not know why but as I get older I seem to be more riled by thse shabby customer service issues by comapnies who should know better.

If a deal states it will run until the 28th March it should run until the 28th March, not close early and if I can go direct to the ACTUAL manufacturer and get it cheaper off their own website (no deals) then surely they can source it.

New price for Vax is £199 Sainsburys...£149 direct from VAX (with free shipping!!

Really annoyed about this...

Darren

These things happen, you missed out on a deal, it happens to us all at some point! You just have to get on with it! Being bitter is foolish and a waste of energy. This is a "shucks, I missed out" moment, not an "oh my God I'm never dealing with this company again" moment!

I'd be more inclined to say you've just saved £120 on a floor cleaner. Great job.

Get on your knees and do some scrubbing IMO. :)

I think anyone has a right to be annoyed with rubbish customer service. Before I met OH in the days when I had designer clothes and vacations in the South of France, I used to shop at Fortnum and Mason a lot. I ordered a wine cooler online last year. It was showing in stock so I called after 2 weeks and asked why I hadn't got it. Was told they didn't know would be sent first class next day. Didn't arrive, called after a week, oh it's in stock but I'll check with the warehouse. True position was that it had been out of stock awaiting new stock from Italy. I wanted it so I said I'd wait. After a further six weeks making a total of 9 weeks I gave up but they didn't even give me an apology.

You must have had a lot of Nectar points to convert into vouchers to buy the item, so I would imagine you must shop at Sainsbury's from time to time to amass so many? I know you can collect at other places, but Sainsbury's is the primary sponsor.

Therefore, can you not just use your voucher on Sainsbury's products and buy the Vax from Vax?

Seems quite simples to me ;)

What a great contribution. Looks like it isn't just the OP that needs to grow up, or are people not allowed VENT on a VENT section any more?

I don't see what the retailers done wrong?

They've run out of stock, and can't get any more - whats the problem? The offer will finish at xx date, and it's a shame they've run out before then - but they can't have an infinite amount of stock, so at some point they will run out.

Just because VAX sell it for £119 to consumers doesn't mean Sainsbury's can buy 10k units from them for that price, nor should you expect them to!
Nothing I say represents any past, present or future employer.

If there is a BOGOFF deal on the supermarkets shelves and i go after the stock has gone. Even though the deal has a few days left. I just think I wish i got there early but must have been a good deal for lots of people so they all got it.

Lots of shops put on sales "hurry while stocks last". not sure if JS say this.

To hurry while stocks last normally means they have loads left.lol

COrrect me if wrong as I do not use nectar points.
If you had not seen the deal on JS you would not have cashed in your nectar point to be used with JS. You could have used those points with other retailers on the nectar scheme?
Now got a voucher only to be used with JS?

I can see why that would be annoying.
