Yes Valvoltec is the name of a small business,I suspect Plain Lazy may have googled it.My reason for initial finding your forum was a research for information on car keys.
I ended up at the index page and read Jades post and was staggered.
I am 45 years of age and worked as a vehicle technician, since I was 17.I have worked on cars, vans trucks and plant.
I have always tried to do a good job at a fair price, yes of course over the years there have been times when I made mistakes and not every job goes to plan, but I try my best.Overall by a long way my expertise has saved people money, made there ,vehicle safer and last longer and more reliable.
Valvoltec was born out of paying too much for vehicle diagnostics.

I have spent most of today promoting my business and most of most of my days recently.

I am trying to offer a fair service at a fair price,I have lots of experience, good equipment,I am not the cheapest not the most expensive,I take pride in my work.I enjoy my job, solving problems with things makes me Happy.I want enough money to pay my way and a little more for a few treats.
I don't mind if I mend your car or tell you how to do it yourself, there are enough people who do not want to mend there car for me to be busy.
Jade is just starting out in car ownership, her first car has problems already, she takes it to a garage who take a lot of money and no solution.I read the post and can not belive that they can not solve the problem.A few years later and a few more bad experiences like that and she will, always think that a garage is out to rip her off.
I try to answer questions on a good few forums,I may as well tell you how to reset your remote fobs or your service light, when your 100 miles away, its not worth my time or your money for me to do.I do the same for customers, neighbour's and friends if they go away and it mends it, the next time they come back.
That is trust, you trust this website its creator,to provide solutions to save you money, you try the answers,if they work you come back.
I have used this website for solution to lots of problems, tried the results, saved money, and so therefore,it is only fair that I share my knowledge and specialism.
I am unhappy at the garages level of service and professionalism, and perhaps by posting on here can help to redress the balance, and restore some element of trust.
Hope that clears up who and what I am,and that every body is happy for my input,Sean

As long as you remember that you need Martin's permission to post on behalf of your company. Posts which are attempts at advertising will be marked as spam. The forum team are pretty hot on rulebreaking.

My guess is that business is slow and you are just spreading your company name around motoring forums as a way of drumming up some business in tough times. Otherwise why not have a username which doesn't identify your company? Googling you gives your website with blog, twitter and facebook links but I think that is part of your plan.

If I'm wrong then in a year's time you will have racked up perhaps a thousand posts (in motoring) and will have an equal number of thanks from grateful forum members. Time will tell. Forum team can decide.

same with me sean and then you read a post like this and think why do we bother lets just let everyone get ripped off because that is how we always get portrayed even when garages are giving good service but you never hear about them

Sounds like they took the job on expecting it to be something simple, thinking they could tighten a bolt and make a nice chunk of profit, but when they started work they found it wasn't what they thought, it's job they may not be equipped to do OR they !!!!!!ed something up and don't want the hassle.....

it didnt help that the op does not know that they are driving a manual car so its even possible that the garage did indeed think it was an easy ride to take some money
    but lets be right here
its a corsa and its got a manual box,its one of the easiest cars to do a clutch on,heck you can even easily remove the subframe to give yourself more room if you have hands like popeye

In fairness to the OP you didn't ask if the car was auto or manual. You asked if it was easytronic or manwell. No wonder the poor girl didn't know the answer, you asked a rubbish question!

    for the record
she was asked in post nomber 2by vaux i asked it further down

and in fairness to the OP im still trying to get my head round the fact she wasnt sure but tried to play the girlie card
I get this all the time at work, but a fluttering of eyelashes only achieves a level of foolishness i wont go down to, because usually these people really do know, but are just playing, but i dont and wont buy into it.

I leave it to the foxy ladies drivers club to mop these people up:)

Ooooo, don't be so sexist! We've had a vauxhall for years and I've never heard of a "Easytronic" gearbox. Nor a "manwell" come to that. :rotfl:

If I asked you what the difference was between Wrigleys and Simpsons*, would you know what I was talking about? (without googling it!)

I daresay not. Because you don't do a girly job like me.;)

Sorry it may of been the way I worded it, they arnt looking to help refer me to a specialist... Their looking to get paid the £240 bill and me get a family member to tow my car home and gave me the advice of no local garage can fix this and to find a vauxhall specialist.

I took it in with what felt like the clutch cable had gone as my boyfriend had to 'bang' it into gear to get it there but then we was told the 2002 are hydraulic not cable hence the harder, more expensive job.

As a 20year old girl of only driving 3months so far I'm starting to suspect their taking full advantage and either want more money out of me or genuinly have no idea what their doing. I asked what the problem is now and they just keep saying the clutch isn't pumping? And theres a noise coming from the gearbox with 1st and 2nd gear?

They haven't even rang me since and are closed all weekend now so I'm thinking of getting maybe citizens advice of my rights before handing my money over.

if you read her post she answered you question. auto's dont have clucth cables!! there no pedal to attach them to.
