Cleaning Routine - not flylady

Hi there, I was just wondering what you people with clean houses do on a daily/weekly/monthly basis to keep your house pristine/healthy & also prolong the life of your furniture/appliances etc
things like:

hoovering
changing bed sheets
cleaning windows/sills
cleaning blinds
kitchen cupboards outside/inside
kitchen drawers (junk lol) in/out
wardrobes sort/throw clothes you dont wear
sort/throw out/give away toys
clean outside of fridges/appliances
clean inside of fridges/appliances
cut your grass/weed your garden
clean your skirting boards/doors/door frames
clean your walls
dust/clean lamp shades
do side of bath with a toothbrush to remove scum build up
deep clean of bathroom
quick clean of bathroom
clean oven

im trying to establish a new cleaning routine (not so much tidying mainly cleaning) and thought id pick your brains to see how often the peeps with established routines do these things.

As I said Ive looked at flylady before & believe me i DO know theres more to life than cleaning, thats why Im in this 'mess' haha

anything else you can add to list feel free

thankyou so much

Never! Now I feel even worse about the state of this house than I did before. I clean the bathroom thoroughly about once a week, and the downstairs loo two or three times a week as the kids tend to use that one and they smear grubby hands everywhere. I use a toothbrush to clean behind the taps on the bath, but never to clean scum build up. Maybe I've just not noticed the scum build up!

I have lists of Daily, Weekly and Monthly chores for each area. Pretty much everything is included somewhere on those lists, including washing curtains, walls, ceilings and sorting storage areas from cupboards and wardrobes to the garden shed. Everything all in takes about 1 hour 15 mins, Mon - Thurs.
I usually get this done in the mornings before work, then I don't have to worry about it any more, which suits me fine, as I don't really like housework. It also means I don't have to devote my free time or weekends to catching up.
I'm an adult and I can eat whatever I want whenever I want and I wish someone would take this power from me.

Good question OP! This is something I've often wanted to know.
splishsplash, sounds like you have it down to a fine art, don't suppose you'd be willing to post your list?? :o

I vacuum as soon as I get back from the school run as we have two dogs, one who sheds like a demon. I mop the floors every day or two (hall and kitchen) and shift dog poo and swill down the yard with disinfectant as and when it occurs! I'm probably not that much use to you as far as organising a routine goes - I always keep the toilet clean (bleach every day), the bathroom free of too much stuff (I shove it all in a cupboard), and keep the kitchen worktop (well, the bits where I prepare food) clean, and the draining board. I keep up with the pots as well.

In all honesty, the rest I either leave until I get a weird rush of 'I'M GOING TO GET ORGANISED!!!'-ness, after which time I maintain it every minute of the day as if my life depended on it, or I'm on post-maintenance-madness-knackeredness and leave it until my four washing baskets are all full and my husband has no underkecks. :rotfl:

I very much commend you for planning a routine. I wish my head worked like that. xx

ps I stardrops the bath and sink every couple of days with the kids used flannels before I wash them, too. God, I love stardrops.

I work it around my days off (I work 4 days a week) as I start work at 6am, I am pretty much good for nothing by the time I get home and sit down for a cuppa.

I clean the bathroom & shower once a week thoroughly after my shower (there are only 2 of us so its not really dirty).
I vacuum and mop twice a week on tues and sat.
Clean the toilets as I use them to keep on top of their cleaning.
I clean the kitchen as I cook to make sure it never gets bad. The worst it gets is a pile of washing up waiting to go in the dishwasher because I haven't had time to empty it.
Dusting is my biggest downfall, but gets done whenever I can muster the energy!
The bed and towels get done once a week, give or take a day or so, depending on the weather as I prefer to line dry as much as possible.
Dog beds get washed once a month.
The rest of the stuff, like grass cutting and cleaning out the fridge gets done when it needs it, but always on my day off.

I don't bother with lists/rotas for cleaning which is odd as I am a "list person" by nature!!

Im moving house soon and have just realised how err 'unclean' this house really is, so I want to start as I mean to go on in my new house as its looverlyy and I really want it to stay that way!! Saying that I have 3 boys aged 2-12 so it isnt easy..but if I had a list/rota thingee I think I might just try and stick to it. I wouldnt really have to think, just tick each job as and when done (well in theory anyway) ..

For me the Flylady principle of devoting some time each day of the week to a particular room in your house really works. Depending on how much time you have this can be a quick swish and swipe or a full scale clean including paintwork, windows, light fittings, cupboard clearing, etc.

I must admit things do slip sometimes but I try and work it as:

    Monday : Lounge and Hall
    Tuesday: Kitchen and Utility
Wednesday: Study, Bathroom and Downstairs Loo
    Thursday: Kids Bedrooms
Friday: Our Bedroom, Landing and Stairs

On a daily basis I also try and keep on top of the washing and ironing, keep a check on our finances, make sure the kitchen and bathrooms are both wiped down and make sure the car is kept something like presentable. Gardening is done as and when it needs doing or if the mood takes me!

We dont have a massive house and this way I manage to keep on top of things.

    Daily

    make beds
    put dirty laundry in basket
put in a load of washing if needed (usually is)
    load/ unload dishwasher
    wipe kitchen surfaces
    change kitchen cloths
put away toys/ games in lounge and dd's room

Weekly (blitzed as family on sat am)
    Tidy, dust, hoover all rooms
    clean bathroom
clean kitchen inc cooker and fridge
    mop hard floors
    hoover
clean out fireplace (if had fires)
change beds (weekly ours kids alternate weeks)

    Everything else As needed
So kitchen floor is swept when it needs sweeping which might be daily or every couple of days
Drawers get tidied when they start to annoy me
Kids toys get 'decluttered' when stiff starts to overflow from its storage
racks and liner from the over go in the dw when the look grimy
I hoover the curtains when I rememeber/ can be bothered but have never washed them - but they are all huge interlined affairs
Sofa covers go in washer when they look like they need it or if there is a spillage

I have never cleaned around the bath with a tooth brush
