Can I have multiple ISAs?

Hi,
I've got an ISA with Halifax with a nil balance that I never intend to use again, but you can't close it online or over the phone and I've no real easy way of getting to a branch (there's none near here and I don't fancy driving for an hour to get to one!) so I was wondering can I just leave it open, and then open another, and an S&S ISA too?
I'm basically just wondering if it doesn't matter how many you have open as long as you don't go over the £5,340 limit in either the cash/S&S ISAs?
Thanks

You can have open as many ISAs as you like and there is no limit to have much you can hold in an ISA. The only limit is the amount of money that you can put in your ISA each year.
But there is no point in leaving an account open if you don't intend to use it again. Perhaps you could write to them to close it if there is no branch near you?Did you really mean to put loose?
Lose: no longer possess, not to retain, unable to find
Loose: not firmly or tightly fixed in place0 -
You can open as may ISAs as you like each year but you can only put new money into one of them.make the most of it, we are only here for the weekend.
and we will never, ever return.0 -
