well my first job when i was 16 so 6 years ago now i was paying emergency tax because i didnt have a NI number but i never got that paid back to me which i thought i was suppose to, i just dont want them telling me i have to pay back £300 then expecting it that week or somehing when i only get £500 a month as it is.
Tricia don't worry. It was possible that it was the emergency tax that you rec'd a tax rebate for. Sometimes it takes a while for these to be sorted out.
It is probably not very likely that you will be asked to pay any money back, but if your worried give your local contact centre a call (you can do this free from the jobcentre or CB).
If it is decided that you will owe money, then they will probably not know this for sure until the end of the tax year in April, when they can see your totals for the year. If you explain your circumstances and that you are unable to pay the money in one go, or even at all, then they will come to an agreement with you.I liked the Hotel Chocolat page and it took me onto a page saying I'd already won a load of stuff and to pick another key, I did and only won an egglet, what's happened with the other stuff then? Yes thanks, i recieved a telephone call, promising letter of apology to confirm they have destroyed any cctv images held, police were not contacted and I am no longer banned from any stores.
Also the assurance that all staff in that store have rec'd re-training and this will never happen in any of their stores again.
