Can I just check that I've got the price checker without a valid email address scenario right....... do you enter the details on the Tesco site then wait until somebody had said the results are in the next day, then re input the receipt details and it throws out a result without have to go through an email?

Jsut beginning to catch on to what's happening here, only just having a quick scan through.

Fudge2, I would not panic - Tesco would actually have to prove you have done something wrong. As far as I know it is not illegal for you to receive such information from a member of staff, even if this had happened. Even if it was illegal, Tesco would have to PROVE it had happened, you would not have to prove it had not IYSWIM.

Sit down and make notes NOW about anything you did, member of staff you spoke to, etc etc, anything that could be even slightly helpful to either you or them, while it is fresh in your mind.

You should be able to get hold of any CCTV evidence if they are trying to use it for any case they imagine they have.

By the way, I am NOT legally trained (apart from "O" Level!!), it is mainly just common sense.

Insider trading applies to the stock markets in the main.

Fudge2, I recently saw a 1p sel on a clipstrip (bin odour things, none left of course!)...regret not taking a picture now. I wonder how would they explain that if 1p items are so top secret...?!

Just a thought under the freedom of information act can't you send them a subject access report include £10 to cover costs, which means they have to release all information held on you. This includes all documentation and I'm sure it covers cctv images. I might be wrong;)

Bit dodgy that one. Anybody has something like 30 days to respond to any such request. They charge you by the page and basically they send you what they supposedly have, but all this means is that if they have any further info, they will never be able to use this in a legal situation or admit to having it, not that they have actually disposed of it.
So basically they can send you the edited version of what they have on you. I know this for fact

:rotfl: So they're all getting a heads up on what is 1p and we're still getting hoards of it?!! Not the sharpest then are they?!
