Yes. Actually the cov is a good idea, their service is excellent, if old fashioned.

Yorkshire B/S cash transactor, failing that Savings card or the likes of think banking.

It is concerning that you can't even get any form of basic account - are the banks that you're applying to your creditors?

Two were previous creditors so that's my stupid fault, the rest are not. I wish I had gone bankrupt, least I would know the reason.

    Can I have DD's with building society's?

    Yes of course.

It amazes me people just seem to disregard building societies.

If these are all basic bank accounts then the only reason for them turning you down, other than you may have debts with them already, is a fraud marker on your credit file.

I'd check your credit files if I was you. Banks should give basic accounts to just about anyone but if there is a fraud marker they don't.

Thinkbanking isn't that bad, fiance uses them. Really easy to set up, and they separate your bill money into a separate account, so it's always set aside and you can't spend it
    ** Total debt: £6950.82 ± May NSDs 1/10 **
    ** Fat Bum Shrinking: -7/56lbs **
    **SPC 2012 #1498 -£152 and 1499 ***
I do it all because I'm scared.

If you leave Santander because you can't pay the debt with them your credit rating will deteriorate further. Have you tried to contact Santander for help refinancing your debt at a controllable level?
  • Im in south Wales, I've looked at the Coventry one but I'm worried about never having to be able to go in branch.
  • I've checked my credit report, no fraud concerns on there. I have written and had many meetings with Santander where I have begged for help to no avail.

The reviews on think banking don't fill me with positivity.
