No buying unnecessary toiletries in March - Challenge

I'm late joining this month but at least I'm here now and with a UU too:)
UU - Simple anti wrinkle night cream WIBA? probably not as I didn't feel it was anything special. I've no more actual night creams in my stash so it's on to a Clarins face treatment oil.
Everything else seems to be an LHJ
I got some freebie Garnier BB cream samples from FB - and thought I'd found a HG cream but within hours my cheeks were red and itchy and then even after washing it off...spotty. They're still sore a couple of days later so these are defo a WNBA.

I had a similar reaction to the Garnier BB Cream as well, I think it was due to it having a strong artificial fragrance. It looked dreadful on me as well.0 -
Morning all
The good first; ive had a fair few use ups since i last posted.
My BF finished his currently bottle of Lynx shower gel - so i got him another one from the 30 odd bottles in my stash.
I finished a facial moisturiser - Organic Surge Day Cream. I WNBA as it wasn't rich enough for me. It had been relegated downstairs to the bathroom anyway for emergency use.
I also used up the Clinique Moisture Surge from Cosmo. WNBA. I used it up on my feet as it felt icky on my face.
Ins
Percy and Reed Hair treatment (free with Glamour) - went straight out again as gave me mega frizzy hair and felt and smelt icky when applying.
2 small Vaseline body lotions - turned up in the posts yesterday one in my name and one in my BFs. No idea where they came from.
2 x MF Fantasy Fire polish.
2 x Revlon Polishes from Poundland - a black, a white and reddish colour.
I think that is everything?? Although knowing me it isn't i buy cosmetics and smellies without even realising.
I think my Glossybox will turn up tommorow and from seeing the spoilers on blogs don't think i'll be overly enamoured with it. Don't often wear lippy (and if i do its a bright red not a neutral), and don't like Clarins products.
In a way i hope it is pants as i have been meaning to cancel in every month since Christmas.I'm so boring, my clothes wanna keep someone else warm, someone cooler0 -
I did not look at the Clinique freebies, so not sure what the moisture surge offer was. When I used to use the pink gel type one, I used to layer it over moisturiser to lock the moisture in, I also used the spray, both left my dry skin well plumped, I only stopped using it when I started experimenting with Elemis and Gatineau as I got older. It is great on neck and back of hands too.
As someone else has posted the pink gel is the moisture surge. I've been able to get away with using any other moisturiser for night cream as I like using my Elemis Pro collagen Marine cream during the day. For a while now I've had to supplement whatever I'm using with a serum or oil (I'm 43 by the way) so am thinking I'll probably have to find something more creamy for night time use. I have a pot of Elemis Oxygenating Night Cream in my stash and I used to love the LE Skin Repair which I wouldn't mind returning to as it costs less than the Elemis one. The only moisturiser that has really made a difference at night though is Elemis Active Skin Complex (don't even know what this is designed for - got a 15ml tube in a TSV once but never had the spare money to buy a full one). Every time I applied this my skin was soo smooth the next day. The only other product that has done this too is the Gatineau Melatogenine Force Collagen but I went through the full size in a month and it would be too costly to keep repurchasing this too.I love philosophy scents, my favourites are cinnamon buns, peppermint bark and marshmallows for toasting
I'll keep a look out for harvest spice, it sounds fab!!
Have you tried the fragrances? I love "Falling in Love" but it's to sweet for a lot of people
I've not tried marshmallows but I've had peppermint bark (not really a fan of the reddish coloured ones! - nothing against the colour I've just never liked the fragrances that have been that colour IYKWIM). I have a bottle of cinnamon buns that MrM bought me for Christmas.
I love the fragrances though not Falling in Love. I love Amazing and Pure Grace. I don't have any of their fragrances left at the mo but I know I have bottles of Pure Grace and Eternal Grace shower gels/body lotions in the stash.
My sister also got me a set with Plum Frosting and two other similar fragrances.
A couple of years ago they produced one called Pumpkin Spiced Muffin which is absolutely gorgeous but it was a limited edition I think as I couldn't get it again. Harvest Spice smells the same so looks like they repackaged it. Am hoping this is easy to get hold of again when it's gone.DundeeDoll wrote: »Can't believe how much hand cream I have in the house! Rather than buying small squeezy hand-creams suitable for putting in a handbag as I was in the habit of doing, I have found small lotion bottle (from some hotel sometime in the past). Today having finished off my last handbag one (I know, I bet you've all been doing this for years) I refilled the hotel lotion bottle from one of my larger bottles of handcream. Yay
No, sorry I'm still guity of buying a designated tube of hand cream for my bag. Like to know there's something there when I'm on the go and it's protected - don't you worry that the lotion might squirt all over your bag? I am down to my last two handcreams though so am nearly a handcream graduate!!
Which brings me nicely to my recent UU: a tube of TBS Hemp hand cream. WNBA. I think this is probably a wonder product for people who suffer continuously with their hands. I'd much prefer to use the L'Occitane lavender one that I love. Some people find the smell of the hemp one offputting. Whilst I found it ok and loved the freshness of it the product itself was too greasy.
Next, I'll open a small travel sized L'Occitane shea butter hand cream then move onto my Lavender one I got for my birthday and then my stash will be hand cream free.Back for the No Buying Toiletries challenge. I pledge to only buy when I run out of a product that is not already in my stash no matter what wonderful emails land in in my Inbox or threads I read on MSE re: glitches!

Hi all,
A few INs to report, my first of 2012, which is amazing progress for me!
Liz Earle Shampoo, Liz Earle Light Conditioner and Liz Earle Eyebright.
I had £20 vouchers for John Lewis from online surveys, so only cost me about £7. And I'm on my last shampoo, conditioner and eyebright, so not bought unnecessarily!
I'm also on my last facewash and day time moisturiser, which I was going to replace with no7 stuff while the vouchers are on, but I have resisted, because I know the offer will be on again before I run out.
Main stuff left in the stash now are shower gels and body/hand lotions. This thread has helped me so much! All you need is less0 -
Yey, no INs from my travels, well except the posh stuff from the stupidly expensive hotel but BF took them not me so doesn't count:)
Loads of UUs
Mark Jacobs Daisy shower gel and moisturiser
Lush dreamtime bubble bar
Bomb cosmetics bellini bathmelt
Espa 24 moisurising complex
Boots No7 cleanserDebt free and busy treating myself:)
No more toiletries/make up until I've used what I've got stashed since Jan 2011, graduated October 2012. Restocked Dec 13..damn those sales0 -

38 Akincleanser/toner cream, 30ml WNBA, quitenice but other things I like better
39 AkinPure Radiance Rosehip Oil 23ml. WBA(have another in stock and another spluttering) This is my HG, I use it instead of a night cream, and as a serum in themorning, when cold weather has finally departed, will probably just use it inevening and go back to No 7 P&P serum.
40 EsteeLauder Daywear Plus 7ml. WBA if I could find at a good price.
