Education is never a waste, its what you apply it to later that counts.
Good luck with whatever study you are doing at collegeAre those shopping bags you're carrying really bags of debt???0 -
Organisation and careful planning pays dividends!
I'm currently creating my new spreadsheet adjusted for new costings.....
This challenge has definately proved to me that you can save a lot of money by careful planning, even just simple things like taking a bottle of water with you when you go out so you don't end up spending money on a drink.
CAFCGirl I hope your spreadsheet is a little smaller than mine, mine has 14 tabs on it, though does include all sorts of things like to do lists and present lists with dates, amazon sales etc, the worksheet that has my spending (not including bills) on it is pretty empty this month and mostly contains entries for postage !!Debts: Mum £3923 0% APR0 -
tabs?!
I'm a great believer in keeping it simple.....:o
I keep things simple to avoid confusing my little one....

good evening fellow challengees
sorry to hear you are feeling down cafcgirl. that bf of yours had better come up with some pretty good surprise for your birthday.
no spender here. I baked two batches of muffins but somehow managed to burn the bottoms of both batches. Must be something wrong with the oven....
tomorrow I'm in London and have a tricky three hour gap between meetings. This challenge means I can't meet anyone for lunch - so how do I fill the time? Suggestions welcome.Total debt: 1 January 2007 £[strike]49,387.79[/strike] 1 January 2012 £[STRIKE]19,312.85[/STRIKE] 1 August 2012 £11,517.620 -

Depending on where in London you are, how about one of the free museums, like Tate Modern, Science Museum, British Museum etcDebts: Mum £3923 0% APR0 -

I had a busy day yesterday, spent £2.14 on Epsom salts to make bath salts(had all other ingredients in the house). We have made 2 bottles of salts, one lavender and one eucalyptus. I hope she likes them. That was the good part.
Then, I bought chocolate and cream and icing sugar to make chocolate truffles too. These are going to be from all 6 of us so I am hoping to charge kids for ingredients and will not be out of pocket. As I usually pay for all these things myself I feel a bit guilty but yesterday DS2 came home with new shoes, t-shirt and two sweatshirts. He has worked hard for the money but blew it all the same day and I really wanted to tell him he shouldn't be spending money. When I moaned about it to DH later he reminded me that it is ME that is doing challenge not the whole family!
I also bought a b'day card but am charging them all for it too. They really think I have gone crazy!business mortgage £0))''(+ Barclay's business kitchen loan £0=Total paid off was £96105 PPI claimed and received £13527

an extra £10 is always appreciated!
Just had a pamper bath to make myself feel a bit better, it's worked a bit, and I feel very.......................... soft!
LOL
Almost made it through the whole day without getting dressed.
5:30pm.................. personal record I believe!
Maybe I'll try that tomorrow then I can't be tempted to spend. Mm.. but then there's the internet.
I got kids to take cars to work/school so I can't go anywhere today but that will probably just cost me in petrol!business mortgage £0))''(+ Barclay's business kitchen loan £0=Total paid off was £96105 PPI claimed and received £13527

I would just like to thank you all, I havent posted much since joining, but my original aim was to have £400.00 still at the 1st of the month, and I achieved that, and tomorrow is pay day and I still have £250.00 in my account.
I have never ever managed this before, so that is a large chunk off the credit card this month.
I am definately going to carry on until Easter, and maybe beyond, perhaps my credit card debt can be a thing of the past.
Just thinking about spending and is it really necessary seems to have made such a difference, and sad to say, I havent really been deprived of anything.
Thank you all for all the support and suggestions
