I recently sold a memory card, only to receive an email saying that Royal Mail has contacted him and said that the item was lost/damaged. I filled out the online loss/damaged form on royal mail and sent it off. But now the buyer is harrasing me to refund him entirely straight away. I said no and i would when royal mail confirm that the item was damaged etc. Is this right? if he gets arsey do i need to refund the postage as well (legally speaking)? He has also threated ebay and paypal, what will they do? ANY ADVICE NEEDED, THANKS!!

Hi John, I received a message from Royal mail today saying that the item you sent in a white enveloppe was damaged whilst in their custody. You will have to file a Damaged claim form. Cause there is no way I am accepting this.
I understand Royal Mail services is beyond your control but only you can file a claim and give the proofs out.
Let me know asap,0 -
Ask for proof, its not unreasonable to send you a photo !

Ask him if he can take a pic or scan the envelope as proof this has really happened.
If he can, then I'd refund him and take it up with Royal Mail

Hey, Eventually you will get the money back for the item. Can I have my money back so that I can
buy another memory card. Also email paypal say you want to refund the money as I don't want the money to be less that I paid you for(paypal charges buyers) Refunding the money will avoid a loss.
Thank you

I understand its not your fault. But you as a seller has more right in chasing up the item as YOU sent the item. You contact ebay and Royal Mail. I've been really patient about all this but now I really want a memory card. You can get your money back on ebay and Royal Mail.
I don't want to get more involved in that. I am NOT ready to lose my money so you either contact paypal and ebay by tomorrow. If not then I will do so.I don't mean to be rude in any way.
