Right, ordered it. I'm so excited - what a saddo I am, must get out more....
  • We bought one of these from Argos a couple of weeks ago for £159 and I just want to say that it is the BEST vacuum we have ever owned and I would not hesitate in recommending it.

We have had 3 different dyson's over the past 6 years (2 new and one given to us) and I can honestly say that the Miele outshines them by a mile! I have found the dyson's are great for the first few months then they just seem to loose their suction over time. We have stripped them, cleaned them the lot and we got to the point where we gave up on the brand totally. We then invested in a vax for £50 thinking it would do the job, but after 18 months it has started to literally fall apart.

The Miele is solid build quality, has a much quieter motor, has adjustable settings for carpet (low pile, deep pile) and flat surfaces. The carpets look like new and you do not need to go over the same patch 4 times as it does a proper job 1st time round. The only downside is it is heavier to carry and slightly heavier to push around, but that does not bother me too much and the fact that it is so sturdy means it will last. We found 2 bags and 2 filters on amazon for under £9 delivered and as the bag capacity is fairly large and will last a while I do not mind paying to replace bags and filters to actually have a vacuum that works properly!

The fact that you get a free 10 year warranty speaks for itself. Bargain bargain bargain. You will not be disappointed!

A further bargin for those who live near the Liverpool One John Lewis. They have this at £150 but it comes with no box (must have been damaged). I saw four left yesterday.

bought this for this price from Argos a couple of weeks ago and got the free 10 year warrenty too.

    Good points
Very strong suction cleans laminate / tiles and short pile rugs.
The brush head pivots so it very manoeuvrable .
All the controls are in the handle power switch too no bending down at all.
    Very long electric cable.

    Bad points
    It’s heavy
Would not recommend for stairs hose is short to.
It uses bags so ongoing cost although they are 6L so big capacity

I have 2 cats’ dog and children and it picks up everything. I would certainly recommend.
Never had a Dyson so cant compare but I do have a Miele cat dog and I think for carpets its better.
Look after the pennies and the pounds will spend themselves

You can extend the warranty to 10 years FOC as well :)http://www.miele.co.uk/warranties-promotions/Default.aspx

Only thing I would say with mine is that I've found the non Miele bags are just not as good.

You should be able to buy instore if they have stock - but the price may well go back up very shortly (possibly this morning).

You don't need to buy direct from Miele for the 10 year warranty - just buy by 31 March.

No, it's free if you buy before 31 March - see link above. Ignore the link on the JL website.
