Advice needed please
In the middle of claiming from Lloyds and I have received an offer for £1013 plus £753 interest each for 2 loans
The only info I have from the loans is the amount borrowed the term of loan and when it ended
They were £3000 closed in 1996 and £9000 closed in 1997
Lloyds have said they upheld the decision but have no information on the loans
Should I accept their offer or am I being greedy

Credit card PPI appears on each monthly statement that it is paid. It is not hidden. It is a transaction that increases your balance. Anything that increases your balance appears on the statement. You must know from your banking experience that a balance cannot change without a transaction appearing.
It is possible to have PPI and never pay a penny. For example, if you clear the balance in full each month then you never pay PPI. Accept their offer as they would have calculated it best they can on the information available. Many would have just replied that they cannot pay out as no figures exist. Lloyds are good in that respect that they dont take that approach.

I received a letter from FOS regarding my PPI complaint against Barclaycard, saying that they will not be upholding my complaint. It then says if I would like an ombudsman to review my complaint and make a final decision, to let them know.
I thought that was what was being done in the first place? Confused?
Should I take this further or just leave it?

Your complaint went to an adjudicator who made a decision based on the info they had. The next and final step is to pass it to an actual ombudsman.
This will take another year probably. You will be relying on them to find something the adjudicator didn't.

It goes to an adjudicator at the FOS to make a decision. There is an appeals process where it can be referred to an ombudsman. However, the vast majority of these do not overturn the adjudicator decision.

Thanks for your replies. I applied for my Barclaycard 18 years ago (my first credit card when I was 22 yrs old) via a leaflet in a magazine and did not apply for PPI with it. After questioning why it was appearing on my statements I was told it was part of my application and it was implied that it it could not be cancelled. I am therefore accusing Barclaycard of adding the PPI to account without my consent. They sent me a very long letter explaining that i was eligible for the ppi and that I was not pressured into taking it out etc etc, therefore complaint not upheld. I have since written back explaining that I think they have missed the point and of my accusation but their reply was that my points have made no difference to their decision.0

They key things being that it was not sold to you. You bought it via postal application. Timescale is an issue as well. 18 years ago you bought this. 18 years worth of statements yet you are only complaining now. It impacts on your credibility. If you were making the same allegation the first month or two after the first PPI payment then you are credible even if there is no evidence to support your complaint. However, making the same complaint after 200 statements have been sent to you means you lose credibility and instead look opportunistic. A phone call asking about it could impact on a decision if it was shortly after the event and recorded but not if it wasnt recorded. Also, it would require incorrect information to have been given. What you imply from a discussion isnt always the same as what was said.

I feel the point is being missed again. I applied for a credit card via postal application - I did not apply PPI with my application. And yes, I am being opportunistic, along with everyone else who wasn't aware that they could claim back their PPI and are therefore being encouraged to do so. My enquiry was after 2 or 3 statements and I then went along with it in the knowledge that I had to have it.0
