Thanks for the update and it's a shame but we did think that was the case. Just had to make 100% sure :-(

Anyway, as requested please find a link to page

    ww.moneysavingexpert.com/reclaim/ppi-loan-insurance

    and it's under the question:

    Can I reclaim' queries
"I've had an IVA / debt management plan / been bankrupt, can I reclaim?"

Thanks. I have sent a PM to MSE Wendy suggesting an update and given her the BIS link as an official source to use.

Just for clarification. Post discharge PPI paid would be a post discharge asset and not subject to this.

Ok and thanks for the update on post discharge. All the claims I may have had related to well before being made bankrupt.

Oh well, always look on the bright side of life :-)

I have had the claim returned a second time due to the current address, despite already giving them confirmation via 2 recent cc statements (my original claim included the loan agreement of previous address and the previous refinanced loan agreement with my current address). Now this time they enclose a copy of everything I sent, not the originals!
Ok, now it gets good....This letter and the copies have been sent to my address marked "Private & Confidential" which is great, but there is no name! My father opened it, as he would being the home owner, surely there is something I can do about this?

Advice please as I am not concerned about my past history, but to return copies of current credit card statements to an address without even a name, come on!

    Thanks cbd
  • Can anyone advise if it is possible to reclaim PPI paid to B&B against mortgage repayments? Since the government liquidated them they do not exist any more, so if it is possible to claim, who can I claim from?

If you have a reason for complaint then you can make the complaint to the seller (a lot of B&B mortgages were broker arranged). However, you do need to be aware that MPPI has a lower complaint rate and a lower upheld rate. You typically need stronger complaint reasons with MPPI and Santander are not auto-upholding on PPI complaints.

Endowments could not have PPI built into them (PPI is a short term insurance offered by general insurance companies. Endowments are a long term assurance offered by life assurance companies)

When a cc company recieves your complaint, are they required to cancel the PPI straight away?

I sent my questionnaire to BC, including a copy of a letter I had sent previously cancelling the PPI.
I have had no letters back from BC, although have confirmed over the phone that they are investigating (24/5).
PPI is still running, and I have just had my latest statement where the PPI has caused an overlimit fee of £12 (over by 14p).

Is it worth calling them and getting this cancelled and charge refunded, or wait out the claim?
