PPI Reclaiming Discussion Part 5

Thanks everyone, helpful as always. I was very financially stupid at that time and got in a right mess so wouldn't be surprised if I did tick the box!0

Hi.
Wondered if anyone else has had any success at claiming for PPI a 2nd time?
I claimed a few years ago from Lloyds bank for a past credit card I had with them for a few years and I received approximately £1000 compensation for PPI charges I never asked for. That was amazing and was very happy with that.
I recently have had a rash of calls from PPI claims companies telling me that I should claim again (thru them of course) as over the last 2 years the banks have been found to have given too little compensation! Is this correct?
I obviously don't want to sign up to any PPI claims company but wondered if I should attempt to reclaim again from Lloyds if this is indeed the case? Does anyone have any experience of this and what would be the correct way of going about this? I'd really appreciate any help on this.

Do not under any circumstances use them to do this.
A number of banks have been told to revisit old complaints. It is not driven by the individual. The banks and card providers are automatically doing it again. So, adding a CMC to the equation means they take a cut of something that was going to happen anyway.
If the provider is not one of those instructed to review old complaints then you dont get a second chance. They do not have to reopen or review the previous decision and can just refer to the same reason they gave in the first place.I am an Independent Financial Adviser (IFA). Go for it. My neighbour told me she'd done it and had received £8k. I claimed against some VERY old accounts and I am now £24.5k better off. New kitchen has been ordered

And you would have been 12k better off yourself if you had sent in your own complaints instead of paying a claims company to fill in a form and post it offSam Vimes' Boots Theory of Socioeconomic Unfairness:
People are rich because they spend less money. A poor man buys $10 boots that last a season or two before he's walking in wet shoes and has to buy another pair. A rich man buys $50 boots that are made better and give him 10 years of dry feet. The poor man has spent $100 over those 10 years and still has wet feet.

I used Singer and Freidlander for a loan on a car back in 2004. I understand that they have gone into liquidation and or have been bought over by an Icelandic company, but of course this may have also gone belly up.
How would I be able to find out if I was duped into paying PPI if a loan company has gone bust, I do have a carbon copy of the agreement and cannot see anything but it could well be hidden in the repayments unbeknown to me.
Thanks0 -
Don't know if I'm posting in right place. I had an Alliance and Leicester loan with PPI - when this all started they sent me a letter to sign and £300 if I didn't claim in future. Is this legally binding cos it's wound me up for years!0

PPI cannot be hidden, that is a claims company myth, it would be on the documents you signed.
Moot point though as its pre-2005 from a car dealership so before regulation so your case could be dismissed anyway with no access to the FOS even if they were still tradingSam Vimes' Boots Theory of Socioeconomic Unfairness:
