They won't do it just because there is an element of doubt. They have to be convinced that it is more likely than not that the policy was missold and the complainant would not have bought it otherwise. .

Their idea of 'not convinced it was sold in the best of....' seems to me to be resonable doubt.

  • I sent a letter to Halifax requesting a copy of my credit agreement for an open account - they have replied asking for a fee of £10 - is this correct??

No, it should be only £1.
If your letter was clearly and unambiguously requesting the agreement only and not a full Subject Access Request (SAR) then you need to point this out to them. If you require a full history of everything they've kept on file for you then you have to pay £10.

Why do you need your credit agreement anyhow? All you need to complain is the account number and valid reasons..

thanks - I thought it would be easier to complain if I had the agreement.

I've had PPI in the past and now I'm checking the policy, one of the things it says is that if you're made redundant, you won't be covered if you're paid in lieu of your notice. In my industry, both redundancy and being paid in lieu of your notice are pretty common. Had someone pointed out that item in the small print, I'd have known that the policy wasn't suitable for me. But surely it's my responsibility to check out the small print, isn't it?
  • Have had an offer from Lloyds regarding a ppi loan. It appears they will pay it directly in to my account regardless of whether I accept. Does anybody know the turn around time of the payment? I have been told by someone I know working for the complaints outsourcing company that the case was sent to the payments team on 18 October 2013. Still no money though?

when did you make the complaint, wasx it upheld?

  • Made the claim originally in August. Received letter last week saying claim upheld and that payment would be made shortly. Called the Indian hotline who cannot give any info and are condescending in their manner. As I said I have a former work colleague who deals with LTSB PPI complaints and she said it had been passed to the payments team on 18/10. Seems crackers that it could take 28 days from that point?
  • I have recently received written notification from the FSO that my claim for PPI against Leeds City Credit Union cannot proceed as policies were sold before January 2005. What can I do? At the time of taking out (and renewing) the loan at no point did anyone from LCCU suggest that PPI was not relevant as I was an employee of the council and thus have payments deducted from my salary each month.

In June 2013 I received a payment of £4000 from Lloyds TSB for missold PPI on a loan from 1999; for this claim all I had was the policy number and no further paperwork but an offer was made and accepted.

    Any advice welcome!
  • In June 2013 received letter quoting a settlement offer; I accepted and within 7 working days had been sent a cheque.
