    Could i have some advice.

I've been paying for a ppi with connell residentia for mortgage protection.

It pays out £400 for me and £295 for my partner if we loose our jobs.

We've been paying this since 2002, now even though my direct debit is paying connell they have no record of the account but there adminstration company, wessex administration has all the details.

If i was to put in a claim which company should i send the letter too?
  • Hi

I have claimed back PPI from two loans in the past, but got suckered into no win no fee firms!! Oh well

I have one last loan that I am unsure if i have paid ppi or not. It says nothing in the copy of the agreement that I have, and I was just bout to type and print the templeate letter from the main site. Does that just ask for a copy of the agreement I already have or will they add any info on ppi should it exist?

    Thanks

why don't you just phone and ask if you had it? otherwise it's a £10 cheque and a SAR you'll have to send

First you need a complaint reason. MPPI has a very low success rate because it's necessary.

Then you need to complain to whoever sold it to you, so if it was a broker, you complain to them, if it was a broker, they weren't regulated until January 2005 so can dismiss your complaint.

Who actually sold it to you?

So with MSE's help I've just recently got an offer (although Goodwill and not admitting liability) of nearly £3.5K on a Lombard Direct (now RBS) loan nearly 13 years old! :) Will have to share the story in the other thread....

I have a question that I'm hoping someone may be able to answer or help with about putting in another claim for compensation due to the mis-selling of my policy. Before I accept the offer.

Long story as short as possible.
    • Approx 3 years into a 5 year loan I had a car accident
    • Back injury forced stopped me from working 2-3 weeks
    • Went back to work, temping. Income reduced
    • Struggled with payments. Loan collections dept chased aggressively
    • Eventually went into payment arrangement (paying less than initially agreed loan amount) extending loan by another year approx
    • Got adverse credit, couldn't move into another flat at the time
    • At no point did Loan company contact me about PPI covering any of it
Spoke to FOS who said that that Lombard/RBS should review a compensation claim if I submit one separately. Has anyone had to write a letter anything near similar to this? I'm not really sure where to start and don't know if i should as it was so long ago and I already have more than I expected.

Any help, thoughts, ideas much appreciated in advance.
Put a mis sell claim in, I don't think that the time you had off after accident was long enough to be able to make a claim, I believe you have to be off for at least a month.
Ask them to look at this loan with the reasons you gave for mis sell on the other.

Accept the offer but put the claim in for the second loan.
If this loan is still running they may take back anything you owe out of any redress, if the loan is cleared and you win mis sell, then you get whatever compensation there is.

Make sure the claims co have finished dealing with you first, get this in writing, or they can take a fee for any redress you receive from now, let the bank know that you are dealing with this claim and you have not instructed a third party.
It is possible the claims co won't know about this claim if it is a different bank from the previous claims, make sure though.
  • Hi,

I was looking for some advice. I had a credit card with HSBC when I opened my student account with them way back in 2000, I have looked back through my records and can't find any trace of the agreement, but do have statements from 05 onwards. I can't see any mention of PPI on them. Is it the case I may have been sold PPI on this credit card? I can't see that they would have done for a student - but maybe I'm being naïve?

I was looking through the guide earlier on and got a bit confused with which bits applied to credit cards and which bits to loans.

Any advice on whether to make a claim to HSBC would be great.

    Many thanks in advance

If you had PPI then it would show on every statement if you had a balance on the card, it would state clearly what it was, if there is no PPI from 05 then you did not have PPI.
Contact HSBC and ask if PPI was applied before 05, if it was and you have valid reasons for a mis sell claim, then make the claim.

    Hi,

I'm after a bit of advice if anyone can help. I found papers which show that I was sold PPI on a loan in early 2004 (March/April). The loan was for 5 years, therefore I theoretically paid PPI until 2009. Can I still make a claim against this as I was still paying with in the last 6 years. I contacted the company who have said that because the PPI was sold in 2004 I can't claim. I'm not sure if this is right.

    Cheers
