Anybody had any luck with Barclaycard lately ? I've called them and put in two requests for them to check my PPI as believe it was mis-sold and despite them saying I would get a response to acknowledge this within 5-7 days I've heard nothing.

Not sure what to do next - should I write them letters as well ? I had thought they had to acknowledge receipt of a complaint within a specific timeframe but given I wrote to them on a claim for my husband's card back in October last year and never had a response I'm not holding out much hope and now sure what to do next !

    Hi All

I was wondering if anyone could advise me on the following.

I made the big mistake of using a PPI company to deal with a Natwest creditcard on my behalf. To cut a long story short, the company in question called mein Sept 2012, informing me they would no longer be a third party to my claim,as Natwest informed them that the claim had been closed. This was fine by mebecause the PPI company correspondence between myself and the bank wasdiabolical.

I then contacted Natwest and they informed me I could request the claim tobe reopened in writing. I did this and was then informed that I had to make afresh Claim with written instructions that I did not wish a third party torepresent me. I also did this and thought nothing more of the situation. Otherthan calling the bank for regular updates.

Time passed by until I suddenly received a offer in 2013 for £5400 which I readilyaccepted and signed. Unfortunately the bank did not receive the acceptanceletter. They then sent me a copy of the letter to resign. When the letterarrived it was dated for June 2012 for £4500. Confused I phoned the bank explainingI was mystified that I had even been offered anything before the most recentoffer in 2013.

My dilemma is Natwest have sent the letter from 2012 of which I new nothingabout, to the PPI Company around the 25th March 2013. The PPICompany are now requesting payment because they where representing me duringthe time the offer was dated in 2012. At the time off the mystical offer thePPI company did not have a signed letter of authority. I would not mind payingthe PPI company what they are due. However I feel very cheated that theyinformed me that the claim was closed ect. I have done all the work thereafter, but they request payment for I offer that I and I presume they did not knowabout.

Does anyone know my rights ? any advice would be appreciated.

Other than I should of done the claim myself in the first place. I realisethis and feel pretty dumb now I know how easy the process is.

If you signed a contract with them then you have to pay. As you say your contract with them finished in Septemer, but the offer was from June.
You could always ask them to show you the letter of authority and then you'll pay them, if they haven't got one, you're fine...

Thanks taff. They dont have a signed letter off authority and I have the emails between us to prove at the time I was waiting for them to send me one. I was also offshore at the time.

However Im unsure if the letter of authority would cancell the contract.
I have no issue with paying them but the lack off effort when they were in a contract was awful. To the point I was basicly trying to sort the claim out myself. Then after the case was closed I did sort it out my self and now they wont paying for an offer no one new about lol.

    Very Frustrating
So in short if they do not have a signed letter of authority at the time the so called offer was made, they are not entitled to any money.
    Thanks for the help

Anybody heard of the PPI tick boxes being ticked by someone other than yourself?

read my posts on my claims with them, and you will see how they work.:mad::mad:
Do it all in writing to at least limit there time they have to get back to you,but then when there time is up,ring them as you will find they will say they have sent letters out to you,but most if not all of the times THEY HAVEN'T.
Good luck with your claim, but you will find banks are starting to use every trick in the book to reject your claim now there starting to get on top of the back log they had.
