Thanks Amersall, but I did not receive the rebate of £4564.99 that Blackhorse have said I received so that is why I am totally confused. The only rebate I got was settlement interest on the whole loan of £3002.

The redress is correct and you should have accepted this 2 years ago, they have given you the whole PPI amount back, less the rebate when you settled early, add the rebate and the PPI together that you have had back and this will be the total original PPI and interest with the PPI that you paid back in settlement and they have given you the 8%.
Contact FOS and tell them you will accept the offer.

  • Hi there
I'm wondering if there is any hope of me reclaiming mis sold PPI and would value any advice?
I have had a number of credit cards over the years as well as car loans which I believe we paid PPI - my issue is, I paid them all off and haven't kept any records of which lenders etc we used.. I could take a guess but I wondered was there somewhere I could find this info and then I could start somewhere?!
I've a week off work and have been meaning to look into this for a while so any help or advice is appreciated!

can someone advise me on next step please
received letter today off pendragon (ppi claim on new car 1999)
"we will not be conducting a full investigation into this matter as according to our records the sale/event complained about took place more than 6 years ago and is therefore time barred"
"ppi were not regulated until 14jan 05 therefore guidelines issued by fsa and oft can only be used to claim mis-sell if your agreement was signed after this date" is this the end or any other options i paid over 5k in ppi on this loan

    Hi,
I'm unsure where to start and if at all i can reclaim ppi that I have been paid.
I know i definately had it with a barclaycard credit card and an argos store card, but when i realised this was one i called up and cancelled the ppi.
Currently i'm still repaying the balance on both at a much lower rate due to financial circumstances....can i still reclaim what has previously been paid? I'm happy for this to go towards my outstanding debt.
I'm also not sure about the reasons for complaint...how do you know if it has been mis sold or not?!
    Thanks

You only need the card/account numbers and reasons for mis sell to make a complaint.
Look here for reasons that may apply to you.

You can make the claim if you were mis sold but they could use the redress if you win, to repay the debt, but at least this lowers the balances for you.

They are correct due to the year.
Give FOS a ring and see if you can make the complaint to the insurer.

  • I have a Capital One credit card and recently noticed that I am paying PPI - it looks like a percentage of the outstanding balance on the card. I wasn't aware of having purchased this so thought I would go through the claims process.

The first step was to get a copy of my credit card agreement as I no longer had it - this has now arrived and the box to ask for PPI was never ticked. The form also asks for a second signature to confirm that PPI is wanted and this was also blank.

So it seems like this isn't really a case of Capital One mis-selling me a policy, more that they have gone against the actual agreement. Because of this I'm finding it difficult to fill in the standard claim form - I can't answer any of the questions about how the policy was sold to me because it wasn't!!

I was thinking a straightforward letter might work given the simpler nature of my complaint but having read some of the stories on here I'm not so sure.....anyone else have any similar experience?

    Hi there

A good and should be a straight forward complaint here.

    Now what I would do is complete the reclaim complaint questionnaire as here;
    http://www.moneysavingexpert.com/reclaim/ppi-loan-insurance#step3
Keep a copy for yourself as well.
Enclose a copy only of evidence you also have that you WERE being charged and paying for a product you never asked for or for that matter agreed to.

Request they refund you all you have paid of the PPI, plus the relevant interest.

    Good luck.

  • I have four credit agreements all from the same bank from different periods with PPI on them, I have downloaded a form from this site, my question is, do I need to fill in four forms or can I simply put them on one?

    Hi and welcome

If you were mis sold for the same reasons, you can of course use just one form, remember to apply each account number.

However, if there was a mixture of loans and credit cards, complete separate reclaim questionnaires from the loan ppi reclaiming to the credit card ppi reclaiming.

Hope this helps, good luck on your reclaiming, and remember to keep copies for yourself as well.;)
