  • Hi All,

I'm looking into the possibility of having had PPI on a car finance agreement from close to ten years ago but no longer have the paperwork or the bank account that the DD was set up against. Is there a way to tell whether there was PPI applied to this loan please?

    Thanks
    Ross

Hi all, not sure how to ask questions on here! I have put in a PPI claim letter from MSE template to UKAR on 12th March 2019 tracked it with post office and it was delivered on 14th March 2019.
I have still not received and reply or even acknowledgment of my letter since.
Any ideas on where I go from here?
    Thank you

They do say on their website they have no contact with customers and any queries should be addressed to the websites of the companies they hold

No its not. I suspect the poster has made a mistake and sent it to the wrong company. The FCA number doesn't exist on the register.
The firm name has no matches on the register. It looks like they never became regulated. ANDREWS FINANCIAL SERVICES LIMITED has the matching companies house number but was dissolved in 2015. It doesnt exist any more. And companies house shows ANDREWS FINANCIAL SERVICES LTD only incorporated in 2017 and is dormant and a different companies house number. A totally different company. I suspect the complaint went to the wrong company.

I am not sure whether you are saying that this is unregulated and hence there is no potential investigating whether I wrote to the wrong address OR whether there might be mileage in looking at the wrong address possibility. Thanks for all your kind help again.

Ring and ask them, the firm only has 8 weeks to respond before you can go to the FOS so seems odd that they didn't even acknowledge it.

Thankyou but cant seem to get any contact number.
  • Hi all,

I have read through all the advice but still have a question. I have made claims myself, but usually been relatively straightforward as I have had some kind of paperwork. I have been helping my brother with his claims (he suffers from General Anxiety Disorder and so paperwork, dealing with companies etc. is extremely difficult, if not impossible for him most of the time). We have sent away an enquiry to Santander for a loan (with them), store cards (as they are listed as the bank processing the claims) and an old account for hire purchase. My brother has received a letter back showing account numbers and a column with 'yes' or 'no' for if there is PPI. He has 2 'yes' notes, however, he has no way of knowing what the accounts are. Without calling Santander, is there another way to establish what these accounts are? If it has to be a call, am I allowed to make the call on his behalf?

I appreciate any help as he wants to make the claim but we are a bit stuck on how to move forward :(

If he authorises you to do it then yes you can speak to them but you could email or use secure messaging (if you have an account) and ask them.

A rich man buys $50 boots that are made better and give him 10 years of dry feet. The poor man has spent $100 over those 10 years and still has wet feet.

Yes - the issue is the seller, if it was 10 years ago, 2009, they were regulated in theory but at the same time, 2009 firms had largely stopped selling PPI and it was banned entirely at point of sale in 2010

  • I know 100% that I had PPI for car finance in 1997-1999 as i remember questioning whether it would cover me or not, but i have no paperwork and can't remember the name of the Finance company. Am I stuck?
