PPI Reclaiming Discussion Part 5

If you believe you were mis sold PPI, you would write to them with your complaint reasons.
However, 20 years is an optimistc timescale to expect them to still have records.0 -
I have claimed back from a credit card and a loan successfully dating back to the early 90s, but I did have the loan agreement and c/c statements. In the case with other loans all I have is old bank statements showing the monies coming out.0

Hi there,
I've finally taken some action and contacted various banks and building societies, even though the loans and card I had were all several years ago and I'm not sure whether or not I was actually sold PPI. As it happens they've all amalgamated under Lloyds/Halifax banner.
I've now received half-a-dozen quite complicated forms, each consisting of several pages full of boxes asking for information and explanations of why I think I was mis-sold.
As I don't think I can complete the forms in any sort of meaningful way, I wondered if anyone had experience of filling them in and had some 'pat' phrases I could use?
Hope someone can help - many thanks if you can.0 -
Respond with what you remember or can prove. No one else answers will help you, otherwise you might be complaining about things that are no relevant to your complaint.Non me fac calcitrare tuum culi0

Haven't been here for a while-good to see the forum still going strong.
Came home from work to a rather pleasant surprise tonight.
Back in 2012 I claimed against Clydesdale Bank for credit card PPI which was ultimately rejected by them and the Ombudsman.
Jan last year I discovered that all claims against CB were being re-investigated but this could take up to 2 years.
Came home tonight to a letter stating that they(CB) were at fault now for mis-selling and that they also looked at previous loans I've had with them over the years.
I am now due to receive a whopping 31 grand (yes I didn't believe it either but its there in black and white)in redress from them (34 grand before tax)
It's just as well I have a strong heart otherwise I'd be lying in a heap right now....to say me and the missus are pleased is an understatement as we can now clear a few bills and get some home improvements done too.
All thanks to this site initially.Quis custodiet ipsos custodes?0 -
Hi
I have just received confirmation that Halifax have approved my PPI claim but they will not pay out for up to 28 days later.
Had anyone else had this, is this normal? How long have you found it takes to receive your money?
My only other experience was HSBC who paid out straight away.
Thanks0 -
It's normal for them to advise whatever leadtimes they are currently working to.
Nothing to worry about.0 -
How is it, that when contacted by cold callers, they appear to know my entire credit history and who I had loans with dating back decades, yet when I contact the said bank myself (yorkshire) they state they have no records dating back that far?
Also and very strangely, they told my wife that she had a loan taken out in her name dating back over 10 years ago, yet to her knowledge she never had.
Your thoughts would be appreciated and should we be concerned that a loan may have been taken out fraudulently. (which they also say, was paid back in full and on time).
Many thanks
