    Hi all,

Bl00dy cars! Ours is 9 years old and the brakes are making an horrendous noise, took this vehicle to the garage and its £1000 for new discs and pads and another thing called a bushel! The car is only worth £1500. Not sure whether to get a new car or pay the £1000..... Cos for £2500 (value of car, plus what it costs to get roadworthy) we can get a newer, less good make (we have a Honda Accord 2003). Have seen some Ford focuses etc 07 reg for that amount. WHAT TO DO??????!!!!!!! Wasn't expecting a bill like that!

That's very expensive, I would def get a 2nd and maybe 3rd opinion.

Had a horrible day today. Started great with my lovely friend treating me to lunch (£5 odd saved :) ) but then she broke the news to me that my old boss has told all the staff that when I worked there I had been stealing their tips! I actually feel sick typing this. I really can't think of anything worse to be accused of, I'd never dream of stealing anything and certainly not from my colleagues. What a cr*ppy day :(

  • Hey guys,

Thanks everyone on the support with halifax credit card. I will def be leaving the bank but going to have to wait till after our hols to get round to it becasue I need my passport and cant post it off anywhere. Plus I get paid whilst we are away and I cant risk a mess up of wages! That would certainly stop the holiday drinking!!

So now Im after another piece of advice... I upgraded my phone today becasue it was due and Im now wondering what to do with my old iphone. Mazuma type places are offering about £60 but I could risk it on ebay for what looks like around £75. What do you reckon? With ebay fees I would prob get nearer the 60 mark anyway. I'm thinking the lazy way and mazumaing it because at least its guaranteed money or should I risk it for more cash on ebay?? votes please!!

Plus during the upgrade I managed to knock my contract down by £6 a month which will add up over the 2 years so im happy with that.

Sent off a Zapper parcel and got ebay money waiting to be paid. So once all this rolls in I might (ha ha ) reach target this month!!

And moneyspider that is my worst nightmare with ebay. I am soooo paranoid of people messaging me telling me they have the wrong thing. I always leave the parcelling until 5.30 in the morning before work even though I know i should do it the night before. Im surprised the stuff is correct in my half asleep daze!!

I have always done quite well out of ebay with phones, but I do worry now about these dishonest ppl who claim items have never arrived. Also I did have a situation with a phone once where the bids got massive and it was just a scam - they wanted me to post it to Nigeria and they never paid. Dodgy. What phone is it? x

  • Thats what Im worried about, someone claiming its not turned up so I'm debating the easy option of mazuma.

Its an iphone 3g 8gb. They arent worth that much 2nd hand really. IM gutted cos I was hoping for around the 80 - 100 mark but never mind!! I shant grumble with 60. Its all off the credit card.

You could use one of the phone trade in places but go through TCB or Quidco and get cashback too. My phones were really old and only worth a couple of quid but I got about £3 in cashback for being a first time user of that phone site.

Oh dear, MoneySpider. Hope the swap gets sorted (and smoothly).

Right, I received £18.20 today for blogging and £0.65 from Squidoo (it's a free web platform for creating single pages).

Have a great day tomorrow, all :)

    I AM BRAVE. I JUST DON'T KNOW IT....YET. :)
