    Hi all,

Bl00dy cars! Ours is 9 years old and the brakes are making an horrendous noise, took this vehicle to the garage and its £1000 for new discs and pads and another thing called a bushel! The car is only worth £1500. Not sure whether to get a new car or pay the £1000..... Cos for £2500 (value of car, plus what it costs to get roadworthy) we can get a newer, less good make (we have a Honda Accord 2003). Have seen some Ford focuses etc 07 reg for that amount. WHAT TO DO??????!!!!!!! Wasn't expecting a bill like that!

Got a new washing maching coming tomorrow (another expense) so am in minus figures for the month now.

Oh well, better get back on swagbucks! Got a restaurant MS this eve, so something nice to look forward to (Its my mum's mother's day present-very MSE)

    SFG x

PS Aesop, I found 1p roadkill!

Just had a messege from a buyer on ebay and they have recieved the wrong item, which means the guy who is expecting an adidas jacket is going to recieve a denim skirt!!:o

ive never had this problem before and can't quite believe ive made such a mistake.
Ive not heard from the guy yet, how would you sort this problem?
im hoping they both agree to post to each other and i'll refund them both once they have both recieved the correct items.

Oh flip what a mess up! :(

Superfly, have you taken it to another garage? I had my brakes done and new pads at kwik fit for £190. Or maybe take it to your council garage for an MOT, it'll cost you £50 but they'll tell you exactly whats wrong. If it passes you've got 12 months MOT and in a better position to sell. If it doesnt pass, you know exactly whats wrong so can go in the garage armed with info and once the works done, get a MOT retest at the council garage for a couple of quid or free.

Oh no! I had this once too - not sure how I managed to do it, but must have had 2 windows open with different items and looked at the addresses the wrong way around. :o
They said they could send the incorrect item back to me, but I asked if they could send it to the correct person instead, as it was essentially exactly the same for them just a different address to write! I asked them to get Proof of Postage just in case it got lost or anything (and so I could check how much they had spent to send it on) and both parties were more than happy to do this, and were luckily really understanding about it and thought it was quite amusing! Am just glad neither was an item either was needing in a hurry.
I'm glad they both were happy to send them on as that meant that I only had to refund their postage they had to pay, rather than refund that for them to send it back and then still have to pay again to send them both to the right place!
I know we have a lot of bad apples as buyers on Ebay, but by and large they are pretty decent about things. Fingers crossed that's the case for you.

I have a problem with my brakes making a noise, ive been told kwik fit offer a free brake check service which usually needs to be booked in advance, they will let you know whats up with the brakes and offer a quote for them to fix them but your not under any obligation to have the work done with them. Might be worth a 2nd option..infact i'd want a 2nd quote for the work anyway, the quote you have seems very pricey :(

Money spider - OOps!! Hope it gets sorted ok

Superfly - Bad luck with the car :( I would be tempted to write it off and get a new car. You might even get a bit of cash from a brakers yard if there's parts they can use. I really begrudge the money I spend on my car as I have to have it for work, probably would do without a car if I didn't need it for work.

I added up my 'savings' from reduced items. It came to £9.20, but feels a bit of a cheat cos I probably wouldn't have bought any of it at full price :/ Am going to check out this ASDA price thingy, see if there's anything to be had from my Tesco shop...
