 Called Amazon and asked why order was cancelled. They said that it was cancelled after the maufacturer's request!!! No comment.
Going to war over religion is basically killing one another to see who's got the better imaginary friend...

Carpe diem --> Seize the day :rolleyes2
  • I called up Amazon customer services and I was offered 10 pound voucher for use with my next purchase. Not fully happy but something is better than nothing.

Well, you did better than me

I had placed orders for 3 items and told they were all out of stock. Checking the website and they're all IN stock but at the usual prices.

Annoyed that I was being fed a pack of lies, I called Amazon and got told a whole new load of nonesene. They claimed that the supplier that had been "assigned" to my order did not have any stock left, so they cancelled my order. When I asked about the fact they were still in stock she claimed that it was a different supplier and if I liked I could resubmit my order. At the new prices. I explained that the supplier assigned to my order was Amazon and I don't care where they get them from. Supply chain problems are their problem not mine. It didn't wash.

I don't mind the fact my order was cancelled. We all make mistakes and here Amazon has made one with pricing up their pans. But to be consistantly lied to (not even consistant looking at the range of excuses) in INFURIATING!!

Why can they not just say "Sorry, our bad, not willing to sell the pans at this price". But noooooooooo, they have to come up with a range of rubbish blaming someone else.

For those of you as unhappy as me about the misleading information, the address to write to is:

    Amazon.co.uk
    Patriot court
    1-9 the grove
    Slough
    Berks
    SL1 1QP.

Aaaaaaaaaaaand relax :o Rant over :D

I think the Lafont range comes with both screw-on cast iron and wooden knobs and the long handle screws off to go in the oven ... perhaps you would please confirm, Whirly?

Oh, on second thoughts, perhaps it's better if you don't report back ... my credit card has taken enough of a bashing! ;) :rotfl:

Well it should arrive tomorrow so I can report on the handle. As for using it, I'll have to wait until my new induction hob is installed (hopefully Tuesday).

Going to induction has meant I've been on the lookout for new cookware (would you believe that *every* piece I currently have is incompatible? What are the chances?) so I've done a little research.

The best deal I've found on Le Crueset has been their outlet store in Gunwarf Quays, Portsmouth. A friend picked me up a 26cm Frying pan (brown) for £30 reduced from £77 (MRRP?). They are £70 from Amazon so I reckon it's a pretty good price.

I also notice Aldi are doing some cast iron cookware cheap this week.
  • i too got the run around

    ordered

Le Creuset Cast Iron Round Cocotte / Casserole 26cm Cerise (22GBP)
Le Creuset Cast Iron Oval Cocotte / Casserole 27cm Volcanic (19GBP)

    in one order and

Le Creuset Cast Iron Round Cocotte / Casserole 26cm Cerise (22GBP)

on its own in another. received the 2nd order, thankfully, but my first order got cancelled. complained and got 3quid voucher.

thanks goes to asharon for posting, couldnt believe it when i saw the offer the other night. and i now have my first of many le crueset dishes.

To confirm, the Lafont comes with both a wooden and an iron handle (interchangeable).

My first impressions of it are that it is top quality. :)
  • I ordered the In Range Chasseur casserole dish with stainless steel lid, last week and it still says ' item not yet dispatched' on my amazon account details. I'm tempted to phone and find out what's going on! Anyone else received their's yet?
