The bank have started issuing contactless cards recently to customer who hold a purple debit card.
However when you speak to telephone banking some of them are clueless to the fact (no change there).
Basically an email was sent containing a link to submit customers details to be included in the trial.Im an ex employee RBS GroupHowever Any Opinion Given On MSE Is Strictly My Own0 -

I called telephone banking and was told I couldn't take part in the contactless trial because I live in Glasgow

Just an update, I was refused my card because I lived in Glasgow and banked at the Glasgow Natwest branch. Today my account was transferred to the City of London branch to escape the move to Santander. I called the telephone banking team and asked again for a contactless card and this time I could get one because I had an account in London where they were trialling them, even though I still live in Glasgow.0
