But debt collectors can trawl some credit files and they can find phone numbers recorded by your Bank or any other lender for example, as part of your customer info. That's how scammers like Roxburghe get phone numbers.
Is that in itself not a breach of DPA? They have no right or need to know phone numbers, as they have not proved their alleged debt.0 -
No because I think this is standard stuff, if you get a credit search you see your loans listed and details like your name address and phone number. I think a debt collector can do a basic search but I am not an expert on the DPA.PRIVATE 'PCN'? DON'T PAY BUT DON'T IGNORE IT (except N.Ireland).

Parking Eye refused to take a pensioner to court, after he 6 times asks them to!Je suis Charlie0 -
Hi there been reading your thread, in the same boat myself. On my fifth( 1 from apcoa, 1 from roxbrughe debt collectors and 3 from solicitors) and final warning letter from Graham white solicitors, asking me to pay up or they will ask there clients for instructions on to take it to court or not, so far thanks to a bit of research online form all of you lovely people, I haven't responded to any of them, kinda hoping they do try and take it too small claims as neither me or my car were ever at the car park in question, its around 200-250 miles from where I live, so would be fun to humilate them in court since I can prove where a I was that day, my question to some of the experts in the forum is are the laws in Scotland different to those in England relating to this? also has this michaell sobell ever succesfully taken anyone to court and god forbid ever won?!0

The Protection of Freedoms Act (Schedule 4), i.e. registered keeper liability, is not applicable to Scotland.my question to some of the experts in the forum is are the laws in Scotland different to those in England relating to this? also has this michaell sobell ever succesfully taken anyone to court and god forbid ever won?!
Threats to get CCJs and take you to county court are laughable, as Scotland doesn't have County Courts.
Other than that, pretty much the same in Scotland.
Roxburghe have issued a few County Court claims, but all seen off very easily with a robust defence, i.e. they drop it like a hot potato when they realise they won't simply get a default judgement by the defendant not showing up. There's no way they'd make the trip from Surrey to Scotland just for a poxy £207 (which I believe is their standard claim - funny how it's always the same).0 -
I got a parking ticket from parking eye last friday for parking in a private car park while using my disabled badge. I was not in a disabled space as they were all full. Should I pay this fine.0

What you should do is start your own thread rather than jump on one that nobody has posted on for over ten months.
That way you will get advice tailored to your own circumstancesThe word "gullible" isn't in the dictionaryTickets: 19 [cancelled: 18, paid: 0, pending: 1]

This thread is from nearly a YEAR ago - I guess you didn't realise that on a forum, the current board of threads is only ever one click away from a random thread you might find?
See my signature, one click gets you to page one where you should read the sticky threads at the top first. Please don't post without reading the sticky info threads (except ParkRight which is just twaddle & discussion). We need you to read the 'NEWBIES read this first!' thread and the 'Successful complaints about PPCs' thread at the very least because your questions are already answered there.PRIVATE 'PCN'?
