I take it the debt collector is Roxburghe and the fake solicitor Graham White? Nothing unnerving about that pair of jokers. Who are, in any case, one and the same. The only time they have been to court was as the defendants- they had to pay damages for harassing someone- but of course they haven't learned and are still at it. All they will do is disappear once they realise they are wasting their time.
  • Hi there,

I have just received a parking eye charge notice - after reading this thread can I assume that I should just ignore it, as it isn't legally enforecable?

    Thank you for your advice:).

Absolutely: I haven't heard anything since they last threatened me with court action which was at least 3 weeks ago.

I didn't think it was worthy of a mention :D

Although the overwhelmeing advice here is to ignore the letters (as ably demonstrated here), what if they can prove you were driving the vehicle in question (ie CCTV or similar)? Still ok to ignore?

Also, what effect (if any) will ignoring have on a credit record? Presumably none unless they find against you in court (if it ever went that far)?

    Thanks!

They can't do that unless they have a database containing the names and pictures of everyone in the country. They cannot just take someone to court and then check if their face matches the picture!

    IGNORE is the correct action.

If they saw you on CCTV parking your car, how would they know its you? It's not as if they can put a name to a random face on CCTV footage is it ? The advice stays the same just ignore them.
Excel Parking, MET Parking, Combined Parking Solutions, VP Parking Solutions, ANPR PC Ltd, & Roxburghe Debt Collectors. What do they all have in common?
They are all or have been suspended from accessing the DVLA database for gross misconduct!
Do you really need to ask what kind of people run parking companies?

    Nothing on both counts.

Photos/video are meaningless in the context of private parking and the bottom of the evidential pile even in legit enforcement. There is a whole load of other things that they would have to get by before an image was even considered. Never mind that the chances of you going to court in the first place are infinitesimal.

Again, for your credit record to be affected, they would have to take you to court, then actually win anf you fail to pay the judgement within the specified time,30 days OTOH?

    So just keep ignoring! :)
  • Thanks guys! I'll last it out then.....just hope the wife doesn't answer the phone when the "heavies" call!

For a start, debt collectors almost never phone up with this scam. 90% of cases just see out the usual letter chain as shown in the third from top thread.

And secondly, debt collectors are not bailiffs, and are certainly not 'heavies'. They are just young wet-behind-the-ears Call Centre staff and are very easy to wind up (as also shown on a link in the third from top thread). There's a link on there mentioning phone calls and 'have fun with them'.

Finally, don't underestimate Mrs stranex! I am just an ordinary wife an Mum and love winding up PPI reclaim merchants, and would be very pleased if I ever got a debt collector call me about one of my two fully-ignored fake PCNs (come on Euro Car Parks and Britannia, talk to me!). My husband, on the other hand, always listens to every caller and has a cheerful conversation with them, even PPI reclaim scammers, he's far too polite which means they call again and again!
PRIVATE 'PCN'? DON'T PAY BUT DON'T IGNORE IT (except N.Ireland).
