The best (IMO, if not the cheapest) way is to go to an Apple store. They will replace it there and then with a new (refurbished) handset. Took me about 10 minutes from walking in to walking out with a new phone, no waiting for a repair shop to send it off.
It costs £119 and is through Apple's out of warranty program.
Good idea making an appointment at your local Apple store's genius bar before you go though, they get really busy!0 -

That's exactly what we're doing today. Managed to get an appointment for 2pm. Even better that OH is paying!:beer: Been smoke free for 4 years!! :beer:0
