I can't face looking at the list froddy :) I have just dragged the dyson out, thing about using it, to discover I haven't used it in the 2 weeks since the cleaner came (I can tell by the way it was out away) and it's full. As it is chucking it down here too, I don't fancy going outside to fight with it in an attempt to empty it. It's annoying as I wanted to put some stuff in the shed, empty the rubbish and recycling and get some logs in.

Boxes of books for rehoming packed up :D and charity box and bag labelled, so hopefully those will go tomorrow, and I can drop off the big bit of the duvet...

Need to find the energy to keep going clearing my bedroom :)

Looking up the rain appears to have white lumps in it :(

Went on the dog walk - the rain was so bad we had to turn back half way - or rather I did as I was driving. No point in an hour's drive, then an hour walking in the rain, then the drive back again. DH is not happy though - he won't actually say anything - not sure what is going on these days! I have my uses I suppose :(

Off to see what else I can usefully do - and get ready for tomorrow's list - see, there is always something to look forward to! :D

So pleased to hear about your colleague froddington - I was wondering how she was! Fingers crossed for a speedy recovery.

As I'm doing well on the laundry I have stripped the sofa bed (I keep it made up with the mattress topper/sheet/duvet/duvet cover inside it, and change it before it is used if the person staying is different from the one who was in it last, as often it is only occupied for one night!). Last person to stay must have had VERY strong perfume, as I can still smell it! Everything is off and queued up for the WM.

I use Ecover laundry products or soap nuts, and vinegar instead of fabric conditioner, so my laundry doesn't really smell of anything (particularly if line-dried) so when I stayed with a friend a few weeks ago I really noticed the smell of the bedding... But I wasn't entirely thrilled to discover when I got home that the smell was so persistent that it had attached itself to my PJs, and when I wore them (too tired to find clean ones) it made MY sheets smell of their laundry products, so I had to wash the whole lot to get rid of it. It did reinforce my position that artificial smells are unnecessary!

I totally agree with you greenbee. I use soap nuts or Ecover and also use Simply washing 'pure' which has no smell for the cottage bedlinen. Nothing beats the smell of laundry dried outside, especially here.

This week I had such great hopes of being able to do more in the house but as usual I overdid things and then at the end of the week did nothing.

We have huge white lumps in our rain here  The being prepared for Winter has been forgotten these last few days as it was so lovely and mild.

It's bl00dy well snowing and SETTLING ... I'm going to have to put the heating on as I have no logs in the house... I might brave the coal bin later as it is just outside the back door.

Have moved more stuff out of the bedroom. Wardrobe is clear. I have MILLIONS of hangers, and they are all decent wooden suit/coat/trouser/skirt hangers that I have bought myself, or padded ones that other people keep buying me, and which I use a small number of for jersey dresses etc. If I had a bigger house I could hang all my summer and winter clothes up, and see them and then I'd probably wear them all :p I have got into a bad habit recently of wearing track suit bottoms and fleeces, which needs to stop.

From tomorrow I need to make an effort to get properly dressed everyday, which is what I was doing before I got ill. The tracksuit bottoms were bought for post-hospital wear, so need to be packed away until July and I need to make an effort to tone up, as even my small jeans do up, but it's not a good look!

Lunch next, then I need to work out what I can get done without going outside!

    Afternoon all

Absolutely pouring with rain here which like lots of you means today's outside jobs cannot be done. I've done a bit of garage tidying, going to do 15 more minutes next. I have to go to Sainsbury soon too. At least the car park is under the store so I don't need to go outside once I get there.

Also going to sort my seeds out which have been on the kitchen table for the best part of a week.
