The annying thing is that usually that workload would be totally do-able. Sigh. It goes to show; you stop away too long your head turns into a pile of mush and you become unable to run a household lol
This year I'm getting organised once and for all, and going to buy a house with my wonderful other half. And that' s final!

Ruth when I used to do NCT I would bundle stuff - eg 5 thomas tank books, thomas toy and video etc. It sold fine and increased the no of items I could sell

    Not done loads today
    LR dusted
    Hallway dusted
    15 minutes garage tidy
    15 minutes in the garden
    money moved

Not much really for a whole day. Did chat to 2 neighbours for about 45 minutes each and my SiL on the phone for 50 minutes too though.

Going to get the boys to get ready for bed soon and go up and read I think.

My freshly washed and dried pillows are lovely and clean smelling (with a faint undertone of feather :rotfl:) and all plumped up, even the ones that are normally flat. Two more to do - one probably doesn't need doing, but the other was obviously on the spare bed when a friend who is a smoker stayed here...

For anyone who is wondering, these are feather pillows, I put two in the WM at a time on 60 (they say 40, but most things do now, 60 kills bugs) and a fast spin. Washing powder slightly less than normal dose, and vinegar to rinse NOT fabric conditioner as it will make the feathers clump. Then shove in the TD with dryer balls or tennis balls on HOT for 40 minutes or until cooked :). The hot air kills dust mites etc and with the tennis balls fluffs the feathers up. You can dry on the line, but either finish in the TD or airing cupboard to get completely dry. The longer they are in the TD with dryer balls the better it works. I do this approx every 6 months to kill dust mites and get rid of dust mite poo, and anytime I feel they are particulary grubby... So this time it's because of all the sweating while I was ill.

Tomorrow I need to wash more stuff, and keep on with the clearing up ready for furniture moving. My cousin has agreed to do my decorating, so I need to sort the dates on with him too.

    Morning All

WM and TD emptied and reloaded and I'm just about to do the dishes. I'll probably do a HHI then I think. We're going to Wic*s at 10 to see how much a new kitchen will cost and then food shopping.

    Have a good day all

Filthy weather ... Two more pillows in the WM. Need to summon up some energy and enthusiasm to get stuff done today.

Ooooh Greenbee - thatnks for the info - bestie has given me a couple of feather pillows and I was wondering how to do about freshening them up.

Not much flying for me today - trip out with the kids planned, but I will put the vanish powder down and vac the playroom at least, ready for the big move around. It's the stuff with Chesney Hawkes on the advert, and although it's £6 a tub in wilkos, it does actually work. Not the same as washing the carpet, but less hassle. House is actually looking fairly good, so I'm not going to panic about it too much!

As I'm doing well on the laundry I have stripped the sofa bed (I keep it made up with the mattress topper/sheet/duvet/duvet cover inside it, and change it before it is used if the person staying is different from the one who was in it last, as often it is only occupied for one night!). Last person to stay must have had VERY strong perfume, as I can still smell it! Everything is off and queued up for the WM.

I use Ecover laundry products or soap nuts, and vinegar instead of fabric conditioner, so my laundry doesn't really smell of anything (particularly if line-dried) so when I stayed with a friend a few weeks ago I really noticed the smell of the bedding... But I wasn't entirely thrilled to discover when I got home that the smell was so persistent that it had attached itself to my PJs, and when I wore them (too tired to find clean ones) it made MY sheets smell of their laundry products, so I had to wash the whole lot to get rid of it. It did reinforce my position that artificial smells are unnecessary!

    Morning all

Pouring with rain here, has been for hours, washing draped round indoors. Otherwise, just general tidying round, S&S of kitchen and bathroom. Cooking dinner early because DH got up (on a Sunday!) to go for a walk but it's too wet so it feels like mid afternoon already :D. Hope it dries up later so we can go for a walk then.

Hello all, its been an extremely busy week, both at work and at home. Was out Monday and Wednesday night, Tuesday I had to bring some work home and by Thursday/Friday I was knackered! But just seeing the list has helped - I did manage to wash down my kitchen cupboards in the week, and dust the lampshade in the landing.
Yesterday we did some catching up - although we have 6 glass doors in our living room/hallway which I've not touched for a year ! So focused on giving those a good wipe down. They are not perfect, but after an hour of rubbing they are much better. Hopefully next time they come round they'll be spotless :D. Cleared a hotspot in the living room - where our magazines are kept, and got rid of 40 mags/brochures/leaflets. Have dusted whole living room, and took a bin liner of stuff to charity.
I had some not great news with a scan on Friday, I am definitely a high risk pregnancy and need regular blood pressure checks/growth scans. So am going to call it a good job done and try and relax the rest of the weekend.

Morning all! Yes, it's still morning and I have already been flying! I have cleared, cleaned and sorted my bathroom shelves and decluttered old make-up and odd bits! Washing in WM and rest sorted into loads but won't get done today as it's chucking it down and I can't get it all dry.

Thinking of making some soda bread sometime today too.

Many thanks for all your thoughts and prayers for my colleague. She had an operation on Thurs which, fingers crossed, seems to have gone well. She is still in ICU but is sitting up and talking. It could be a long road to recovery, but at least she seems to be on the right road :D

I have to agree - I don't understand why people want their washing to smell strongly of something. I use Asda naturals fabric conditioner as even the Ecover ones are too scented for me. How are you feeling today?

Spose I should update my list .............
