not done much today but did head into town and have lunch with OH and the DD's (DS had other plans!).

We went, as planned, to Gourmet burger Kitchen - and we got 25% off the bill because of my Picturehouse membership!:money:
Many thanks are due to DD1 who found this piece of info!

Luckily they do salads so I was reasonably diet friendly and it was absolutely yummy - i had a chilli chicken salad and a diet coke, the rest had grilled chicken burgers which were enormous and they shared 2 portions of chips. Total cost (inc drinks) was £32 - not bad in my opinion....

We didn't stay in town too long - DD2 got in at 3.30am from a mate's 18th and was visibly wilting....she has since retired to bed......

I have a large pan of butternut squash soup simmering on the stove, and as DS has gone away until tomorrow it is very peaceful!

Duster drawer emptied - they are sharing with the gloves, hats and scarves.
Tea towel drawer emptied (these were both small drawers - I won't miss them) they've gone in the linen cupboard.

Some 'man drawer' stuff rehomed - that shares with the foil/greaseproof paper/clingfilm/baking parchment. Found missing multi-screwdriver bit - that currently lives at work so it's gone in my handbag to be re-attached. Have been asked WHY I'm nmoving stuff a week early - well if it all gets moved in one big hurry I won't be able to find anything; rubbish will just be moved instead of binned. Makes sense to me!

The cost is going to be hideous - by the time I've factored in the extras I think we're looking at 5 figures

Pleased to hear the kitchen is going so well hex. Don't feel guilty about the postage - I feel a lot less guilty about getting rid of them if they go to you :) one day I might have a big enough house to be able to keep them all, but somehow I doubt it...

Had a nice afternoon out, but am now shattered. Didn't bother to drop the duvet in to the cleaners (I might go Mon/Tue when I have more stuff packed up for the charity shop) but did manage to persuade my cousin to do my decorating for me, so that's another thing off my list!

Quiet night planned tonight. Maybe a DVD, possibly a bath, and the mattress topper can go in the WM in the hope that it will at least get partly dry on the line tomorrow. As I have to take down the bedroom curtains I may also wash them, and will definitely do all the muslins in the house - that way I can send them off to be ironed and they'll be out of the way while the work is being done. The rest of the curtains will be hoovered when the decorating is finally finished!
  • Just lost a carefully crafted message in computer crash. It went something like this:

Had a quick go round with the DustBuster and then made more mess emptying it than I had just cleared up!

Always suffer from lethargy on Saturday afternoons, reaction to the week I suppose.

Also inclined to a scattergun approach when clearing up, which is of course why the lists are such a boon. Need to focus on one thing at a time - resolution for next week.

    Good weekends to all.

Well the day is almost over & I feel like I've done a fair bit. Ds has texted to say he will be 30 mins late & as its 30 mins drive to school, I'm really grateful for the info. I seem to spend too much time sat outside school waiting as it is...

DD has been despatched to her sleepover with a massive suitcase that looks like she's staying away for a week, but apparently hers wasn't the biggest :D

I've started sorting out clothes and toys to sell at the spring NCT sale. OMG theres loads!! I can only sell 80 items & one sofa is covered with clothes already. Thats just DD's wardrobe sorted - I still need to do her drawers  I might try to sell a few bits on ebay first as the NCT insists everything is on hangers & I don't have enough. I looked in Tesco this week as they used to have a hanger recycling box, but it has disappeared :(

Still to do on my lists:

    Kitchen and Dining Room
    Level Three
Wipe cupboard fronts, kickboards, drawers, etc
    Clean a small appliance thoroughly
    HHI
    Living Room, Hall & Stairs

    Level One
    Clean glass
    Level Three
    Clean skirting boards
    Extras
    HHPaperwork

    Bathroom and Study

    Level Two
    Wipe desk
    Level Three
    Delete unwanted emails
    Clean window
    Extras
    Clean computer screens and laptops

    Master Bedroom and landing

    Level One
    remake bed preferably before bedtime!
    Clean lampshades
    Check smoke alarms
    Extras
    HHI
    Clear a hotspot
    HHPaperwork

    Friday - Kid's bedroom/ Spare Room
    Level Three
    Clear a hotspot
    Dust any dusty bits
    Sort out under the bed
    Extras
    Wipe and water plants

Ruthy - try asking for hangers on freegle, as people quite often have them (I got rid of all my plastic and wire ones there. Also have a look for local children's markets that let you sell second hand stuff, as they may be more flexible. This is my local one (I was there today) http://www.eeniemeeniemarket.com/

Thanks Greenbee - I've never heard of anything similar here - just car boot sales. I tried a boot sale but everyone seems to want clothes for 20p these days & I think my stuff is nicer than that ifswim

I will try freegle for hangers:D

Do some research, as I know there are others. There were craft stalls, 'new' stalls and then second hand stalls. Lots of lovely clothes, and at more realistic prices than boot sales, but still cheaper than new. Lots of my friends buy there, and I know my SIL bought masses of stuff for my nephew in the summer.

I started my housework with a head of good intentions. Defrost the freezer; get the kids playroom tidy finally; clean out the cupboards. Hoover. Dust. Throw away random kipple.

The house currently looks like a bombs hit it - except the kitchen, which looks like a water-bomb has hit it! The freezer has been done though, but a friend had to come over to help marshal the kids. Sigh. It'll get there, I know it will!
This year I'm getting organised once and for all, and going to buy a house with my wonderful other half. And that' s final!

Current Pay Off Target : £1500

Your post made me laugh out loud :D I have been there and learnt my lesson - little and often & only tackle something you can finish is my motto!

That would explan why my study looks like a bomb has hit it for the last 10 years - too much to tackle!! :rotfl:
